One of the things I love about GTA is the cultural and social references and satire. The Music is always great, its not just a selection of rap or something modern and used over and over. One of my favourite things was to just get in the white Infernos in my pastel suit and just cruise from Escobar Int. to down town in the sunset!

Thhe Fact that Fernando didn't make it onto GTA 4 means that I won't be falling over myself to buy this game. Liberty City without Fernando or Head Radio is just way wrong. Houser said in a mag interview that they were leaving most of the old stuff behind. Big mistake.

Vice had so much character in the acting (even Tomy thinking aloud to himself during loading sequences) of everyone in the game and so much soul compared to the other games. Why did they stray from the plot? I've not bothered to buy GTA IV.

Untrue. GTA and Liberty City/Mafia gang life-style and so forth go hand-in-hand. Vice and San Andreas are seen as 'separate' hence GTA IV being 'IV' and not 6 (being the 6th major game).

I'd say that Vice and San Andreas were seperate. Vice had quality acting and radio dj's and San Andreas didn't. To me San Andreas was a marketing sell-out to the Hip Hop/ Rap genre that was riding high back when it was released. I couldn't undertand everything that the characters were spouting out or especially their motives and it effected my ability to identify on any level with CJ.

Well, that's not a reason to dislike a game. Firstly, there are always options to turn subtitles on. The radio stations were higher in number in SA and had a bigger variety of genres. Yup I personally HATE rap/hip hop crap, but the gameplay, music (primarily Radion X, K-DST) etc was overall more important.

I agree with your choice of radio stations. I like characterisation in GTA dj's because they help set the atmosphere of the game, and to me the ones in Vice walk all over those in San Andreas. Overall, it appears that Rockstar went for "Bigger must be better" when comparing the two games.

True =], they set the scene plus the music and DJ's help reflect the time/era each game is set in. VC was all about synthesizers and cleaner sounded melodies and electronic things because that was the thing in the 80's, 90's moved on and grunge and hip-hop grew/reached their peaks.

The music + DJ's adds essence the game need.

I was being figurative, (since Final Fantasy VII seems to have an overwhelming majority of fans, or is at least the most exposed,) that in my opinion Vice City is the fan favorite. It may be San Andreas, but it's my opinion (so far from what I've read) that Vice City is. Thumbs down to me.

Not only the best emotional music in Vice City, but he also brought lots of passion, love & hot dirty action to its lonely citizens, which saved their lives. Don't forget about it. ;]
