  • that petso with leftover green beans is fantastic! and so healthy too. sometimes i just make a ton of green beans for dinner just so i can make pesto for later.

  • Okay first of all, I love digging back in time on Youtube channels for this precise reason. This video is such a gem. The soup looks spectacular- so filling and such a brilliant use of leftovers. I really dislike the taste of microwaved or generally reheated poultry (yea, idk) but this would totally mask that flavor in wonderfulness. And the pesto/cranberry crumble.crisp.bars are just pure genius. LOL Delicious resourcefulness ladies.

  • For Thanksgiving I would just make a simple food at home.

  • online jobs today careerstartshop .info got an interview tomorrow

  • Cathy Erway is REALYYY PRETTY , loved all the food <3

  • I think I'd just make some turkey stock xD

  • Gots some M&M?!?! YEAH TOSS THEM IN THE POT!!!

  • That knife thing--It's that taking the working class thing a little too far?

  • Kathys pretty

  • seen it and done it already. nothing special.

  • Cant you afford a can opener or something? or you just wanna show off that you can stupidly ruin your knife??

  • Kathy need to learn knife skills

  • Is there a way to see all the video responses posted to this episode?

  • what can be used to replace the walnuts?

  • Poor knife! :(

  • I have a question.

I tried something similar with my leftovers. It was just a simple turkey stew. After I had boiled the turkey for long enough for the meat to fall off, the bones came apart to. The stew was great, but had lots of little bones in it that I couldn't find to fish out. My question is, how do I get all the bones out?

  • You do it in stages.

Pick off all the meat you can.

Then simmer the bones to get the flavor. After a couple hours, strain.

In the meantime, you can sweat some aromatic vegetables, add some herbs. When the stock is done, toss in the meat and stock, simmer to combine flavors, and serve.

  • omg no can openeR?

  • I made the cranberry crumble earlier this week. I used canned cranberries but OMG this was so good. We heat it up and eat it for dessert after pretty much every meal so far. It's so satisfying with how cold it is outside. This recipe is going in the book :)

  • what if i use regular paprika ?

  • beautiful, and im so hungry now

  • There is nothing i love more than leftover boiled potatoes fried with ginger spice, and sesame seeds and then added just at the end of frying some chopped celery for a nice cool crispy bite!

    mmmmmmm

  • This looks really good, I was wondering if you guys would do an episode on making bread. I love freash bread and we never seem to be able to buy enough bread. so PLEASE

  • yes! definitely!

  • Love the hints there. Sometimes the left overs make better meals LOL.

  • That all looked delicious...I wouldn't have put the turkey bones in the soup though because there are impurities that seep out of the bones and rise to the surface of the simmering liquid, and if you bring it to a boil the stock will be cloudy....sorry :) I'm a Culinary student and a total food nerd. BTW the cranberry bars looked yummy as well. I might have added some orange zest to them.

  • seriously when she said "carcass" i was like "what?!", but it looks yummy!! hungry... :(

  • i've totally done that with a can. and a turkey. ripped them to shreds! delicious!

  • not to waste foods...yes is very good ..

  • Could we get the recipe for the homemade canned peppers that were used? I would love to learn how to can peppers and all sorts of veggies.

  • its in their pickles episode.

  • Cathy made those specific peppers, but we also made them on our pickling episode.

  • how do you guys keep from gaining weight when there's great food at your finger tips? The only reason I don't engorge is because the food I make is painful enough during the first serving.

  • Last year after thanksgiving we made empanadas out of the left overs. We used extra pie crust for the crust and inside we put leftover turkey, stuffing and cranberries. They were my lunch for a week.

  • All that stuff looks delicious

  • How could you do that to your knife?

  • LOL! the can seems more like the victim :P

  • Looks absolutely delicious. I'll go make some soup using the dumpling idea since I have some extra mashed potatoes around.

  • I really love the cranberry bar idea! (:

  • Leftover bread sauce & turkey? Use it to make 'koninginnehapje'

    - Pour some milk and cream into the bread sauce to make it more fluid and mix it in a blender. Heat it.

    - Make little basic meatballs, cook them in stock.

    - Sauté some mushrooms

    - Put the turkey, meatballs, mushrooms in the bread sauce.

    - Squeeze a little lemon juice in the sauce and sprinkle green herbs on top (tarragon, parsley, thyme).

    - Serve with (Belgian) fries and a green salad.

  • sounds delicious, but I would use either soy milk or coconut milk...other than that sounds mmm mmm mmm!!!

  • I know right? just get a can opener!

  • Not creative, more of a comfort food...but every Thanksgiving my grandmother doled out cold turkey sandwhiches with swiss cheese and mayo on rye bread. She also turned the mashed taters into pancakes or fried them up for breakfast. To this day those foods still remind me of family :) But I think those cranberry bars look delish and I'm going to save that for my day after :)
