They tighten up and the wick water better so it doesn't not set up dread rot. I cut my dreads off actually BECAUSE of the extensive care. I was tired of the long washing, drying, rewaxing, twisting...whoever thinks dreads require no care is SADLY misinformed lol

I think Sonny is right when we have things we have held on to for a long time, symbols of great meaning to us, it is good to cleanse ourselves from things we feel we can't let go, Sonny proves you can let go and reGrow in spirit and his hair. Go Sonny, rock on!

but it's him you know, he had them because of one reason, and over time that reason changed, so when it changed he wanted to stay away from people recognizing him for the dreads in the wrong way, you know what I mean?

Cutting your dreadlocks because everyone else started wearing them? then you aren´t using dreads for a very good reason man... I had to cut mine when I catched lice from someone I slept with. Now THAT´S revolting man. Cutting them because everyone else is using them is just a poor excuse at my eyes.
Soon as I get my hair longer again you can be damn sure im doing them again!

This is kinda funny cause in an episode of punkD when the actors were pretending they needed to cut off portions of his dreads due to the fact that it might be contaminated, he refused with all his might and would rather be trapped in some bubble like environment for 3 days, and then how many months later he actually gets the whole thing cut off. BTW, don't take this in anyway as an insult, POD is 1 of my favorite bands, but I thought it was just funny how this whole dreads thing went down.
