awesome melody-line. should not be hidden from the public. Only one thing : sit together with a mixer, now everything is equally filled with sound & rythm. A good (re) mixer plays with volume and brings the same melody more to aclimax. Use also "instruments" (samples, sounds) more "naturally" filled (broader spectrum) and a acoustic drum (with of course a excellent musician drummer)... this can be memorable. Wish you all the best
@MilkTeaOriginal Can you be more specific? Which mixer should I use, and how exactly do I alter it? Also, do you really think acoustic drums would fit this song? It's mostly an electronic-dance piece with a touch of acoustic from the strings and piano.
I'm sorry. I HAD to download. This song made my iTunes library and trust me, I have STRICT rules what goes in there. Amazing song, simply brilliant :)
@canadia7x Haha, that's cool. Thanks for the nice comments. I actually wrote this song when I was 15 years old (I am now 22), but about two years ago I re-made it with better instruments and effects.
@ArcadianGenesis You definitely have talent! I've been making music since 5 years now, but one thing I struggle with is the melody. I've basically got everything else under control. You, though, have a really good melody going.
@canadia7x The key to writing a good melody is to begin with an effective chord progression. I don't know how much you know about music theory, but I taught myself most of what I know, so either way you can figure it out. Basically, any good melody will consist of at least three or four different chords "backing it up." Different chord progressions create different "moods" and feelings. When you find one you like, it's very easy to write a great melody on top of it.
@ArcadianGenesis Well, I did take music theory for four years, however, I forgot a lot of the stuff that was related to melody. I should take a look at chord progressions again. I've used chords and certain keys, but they've become really boring to use. Thanks for the help! Hopefully I can finish the song I'm working on now :)
@canadia7x Oh okay, haha, then you know a lot more than I do about music theory. I'm sure when you utilize your full potential, your music will be amazing. The funny thing is that I began composing music (including this song) before I knew anything about music theory, and learning it hasn't necessarily made my music better - but on the other hand, it feels good to know what I'm doing at a semantic level (i.e. knowing the names of chords, key signatures, etc.).
great tune! :)

@ArcadianGenesis Yeah, exactly. Instead of having to test out random notes, you have a knowledge of what works together and what doesn't beforehand.
