But np you can still always just play without gems and get your ass handed to you by a 2 year drooling on the buttons with gems activated.

@GorillerViller Seeing as how some gems have drawn backs I don't think it's going to be that easy to win. I'm more worried about the character balancing. Tekken and Street Fighter guys are going to play real different which is going to get a distant advantage to people that know both sides.
i just hope there is gonna be a second mode without gems but thinking about it that will probably not happen.
They might be saying that should enhance creativity and customiziation but in the end everyone is gonna play the same gem setups that are proven effective in most situations.
And then if you dont have this or that gem you gonna be at a severe disadvantage from the get go. paying for power basically

But more advance players may base their tactics on speed so they will use speed gems. So I don't think it going to be to many same gem players.

The thing I don't like about Capcom is that they don't take obviously good alternatives to what they already have in store. For example, HvH on UMvC3, you could only do ranked matches, The genius at Capcom was taking a break when they implemented that system, because we SHOULD have been able to play HvH with friends. So what Capcom SHOULD do is make special lobbies for people who want to play gem free.

I don't agree with the fact that there are so many gems. It would be nice if there were some 5 gems for everyone and 3 per character or something like that. Having 35 gems is too messy and you can't even tell which are they exactly in battle
Not trying to start something or anything, but it seems like SFxT's gem system is somewhat like UMvC3's X-factor when it comes to gameplay. The only difference is how PAINSTAKINGLY TEDIOUS it will be to set gems to different characters. I'm sorta on the fence about this.
wait a sec... i dont get it... are the gems one time use? cause if they aren't wats the point of getting the special edition with 36 extra gems that u dont need? and do all the gems unlock once u start the game? or do u hav to earn all of them from the beginning, from certain situations and conditions? and for the boost and assist gems, are they considered to be part of the same 5 equipped in the matches (e.g. can u hav 5 boost gems and 5 assist gems, or 5 gems total?) so many questions!
I'm hoping Jack-6 makes it into the game, cause he's one hell of a killing machine. I can see him taking on both Zangief and Hugo, and Iron Fisting them both to death.

The fact that the gems are optional means you can bet for tournaments gems will be banned as the gems will divide the community with players spending extra for the collectors edition or purchasing gem packs having an advantage over players who just get the core gems. I am liking that Capcom is not forcing the gem system onto players , so online matches and casuals I see the gems being used but for tournaments I am pretty sure they'll be banned so I say to SFxT players learn to play with and w/o
i dont get the beef with gems, its just a choice you make to further customize your team to how you play just think of it like super arts or something it just another match up thing to keep in mind.
The character I want is Juri. She needs to be in the roster for many reasons. She would be the only other evil person on the Street Fighter side, she makes a perfect counterpart to Hwoarang and she is a super popular character in SSFIV AE. I would be surprised if she wasn't.
I just see this as a Heroes and Heralds ripoff from UMvC3.... I do not think this should be taken to the next level for hardcore gamers, especially for tournament play. This should be a fun and easy way for newcombers to play fighting games and to adapt, and to learn, the real way that a fighting game should be played.

Akuma, The Supreme Master of the Fist and the one powered by the Surge of Murderous Intent. Needs to be in SF X TK. He is a priority character in the series. After all he is the one that want Ryu to see his true power (in SSF IV). Which can still be used do to the "Pandora". Where in game play "Pandora Mode" seems to give out unlimited power (cross bar) while fighting. Akuma is usually a lone wolf. But I think Ono and Capcom can think someone to pair with him.

I would like to see Dudley make it for the final roster of SFxT. The reason why is... well, Tekken's side has Steve and he's a boxer, so why not Street Fighter? They have a ninja on each side, why not even it out with a Boxer for Street Fighter like they did for Tekken's side?
I really would like to see Karin. She hasn't been seen since Street Fighter Alpha 3 (not counting Capcom Fighting Evolution since that game wasn't very good), and many fans like myself would love to be able to see her in action again. Plus since Lili is already in the game, it would be fighting to have one rich girl face off against another rich girl. Also if Sakura is confirmed, there would be even more reason for her return since the two are rivals.
I want Seth to be in the game, it would be best since he is from SF4 and he has crazy juggles all ready, so why not put him in where he can juggle even more people haha :)

I don't understand Capcom on this one. This gem system is, to my understanding, similar to the Heroes & Heralds mode in UMVC3. Now, why is that that mode got it's own separate playlist (a great decision that didn't anger any players because they didn't force it on us) and this Gem system is being forced without anyone (at Capcom) even considering just listening to us and giving this to us in a separate playlist?
@Lawliet16 Heroes and Heralds adds new abilities to your characters (parry, multiple jumps, invisibility etc.) . Gems are mostly stat boosters. that's the main difference.

@DSN107 the special edition is $10 more than the standard. that's not alot of extra money by ANY means. second of all , all these gems have benefits and drawbacks. you just saw that the super easy input gem takes away half of kazuya's command moves severly limiting your combos. it's like simple mode in MvC3 but you ALSO do less damage. people are making this a WAY bigger deal than it is. the gems will add a unique system to combat. if you lose it's not because of the gems it's because you suck.
I want to see Jin Kazama, because It would be awesome to see how Capcom have got him going with his moves and looks. Plus I want to know why he wants to meet Ryu.

And also I think capcom is trying to be like Tekken in the sense like in Tekken 6 you can equip different clothes and items to your character to increase their stats. I never doubted the gem system because capcom has made enough amazing fighters to know what they're doing, and the proved me right. This actually looks really good, the gems aren't massive buffs, some have debuffs as well, you can't choose exactly when you want to activate them so if you play smart the opponent won't do much with them anyways. Capcom took the right steps so this wouldn't become the x-factor of SFxT. Hopefully a few haters changed their minds after seeing this

I think that each side needs at least one "hardcore fan character" out the woodworks. Like Retsu from the first Street Fighter and like Tiger Jackson from Tekken. Also they still need Law, and Paul. You cant neglect characters that NEED to be in the game.
Gouken, Akuma & Jinpachi Mishima to complete the full battle of The Hado (Ryu, Ken, Akuma & Gouken) Vs. The Iron Fist (Jin, Kazuya, Hehachi & Jinpachi)... This would definitely bring out all the fans from both franchises & I truely believe ya'll will sell over a million in the U.S alone off this.

I just see this as a Heroes and Heralds ripoff from UMvC3.... I do not think this should be taken to the next level for hardcore gamers, especially for tournament play. This should be a fun and easy way for newcombers to play fighting games and to adapt, and to learn, the real way that a fighting game should be played.

Akuma, The Supreme Master of the Fist and the one powered by the Surge of Murderous Intent. Needs to be in SF X TK. He is a priority character in the series. After all he is the one that want Ryu to see his true power (in SSF IV). Which can still be used do to the "Pandora". Where in game play "Pandora Mode" seems to give out unlimited power (cross bar) while fighting. Akuma is usually a lone wolf. But I think Ono and Capcom can think someone to pair with him.

I really would like to see Karin. She hasn't been seen since Street Fighter Alpha 3 (not counting Capcom Fighting Evolution since that game wasn't very good), and many fans like myself would love to be able to see her in action again. Plus since Lili is already in the game, it would be fighting to have one rich girl face off against another rich girl. Also if Sakura is confirmed, there would be even more reason for her return since the two are rivals.

I don't understand Capcom on this one. This gem system is, to my understanding, similar to the Heroes & Heralds mode in UMVC3. Now, why is that that mode got it's own separate playlist (a great decision that didn't anger any players because they didn't force it on us) and this Gem system is being forced without anyone (at Capcom) even considering just listening to us and giving this to us in a separate playlist?

@Lawliet16 Heroes and Heralds adds new abilities to your characters (parry, multiple jumps, invisibility etc.) . Gems are mostly stat boosters. that's the main difference.

dude u dont get it. not everybody has money to be buying DLC GEMS for and advantage. and some of the CE Gems have no DRAWBACK!! how is this balanced? every retailer is going to have different gem pack,how is this balanced?
standart: 10 normals: +20% -10% speed.
CE exclusive: 10 normals: +20% damage NO DRAWBACK!!!
theres even some gem that give u 20% damage increase and last 30 seconds.
this is such a mess lol i dont care if they have gems as long as they give u the option to turn it OFF!!!!

@DSN107 the special edition is $10 more than the standard. that's not alot of extra money by ANY means. second of all , all these gems have benefits and drawbacks. you just saw that the super easy input gem takes away half of kazuya's command moves severly limiting your combos. it's like simple mode in MvC3 but you ALSO do less damage. people are making this a WAY bigger deal than it is. the gems will add a unique system to combat. if you lose it's not because of the gems it's because you suck.

JUST RELEASE A CINEMATIC TRAILER ALREADY! Me and alot of other people don't give a shizznit about these damn gems!
And also I think capcom is trying to be like Tekken in the sense like in Tekken 6 you can equip different clothes and items to your character to increase their stats. Like you can give someone a blue pair of fighting gloves and their hands will glow red and their attacks do more damage. I think that's what Capcom is trying to mimic here, except with gems.

I never doubted the gem system because capcom has made enough amazing fighters to know what they're doing, and the proved me right. This actually looks really good, the gems aren't massive buffs, some have debuffs as well, you can't choose exactly when you want to activate them so if you play smart the opponent won't do much with them anyways. Capcom took the right steps so this wouldn't become the x-factor of SFxT. Hopefully a few haters changed their minds after seeing this

I think that each side needs at least one "hardcore fan character" out the woodworks. Like Retsu from the first Street Fighter and like Tiger Jackson from Tekken. Also they still need Law, and Paul. You cant neglect characters that NEED to be in the game.
