  • i share your pain of people thinking i should speak chinese.

  • At the end of this film, when the Empresses are invited to lunch by the director of the orphanage from which they were adopted, a young girl--a young woman--is included along with some of the other orphans, some are likely too old to ever be adopted. The young woman must use a walker. She broke our heart. Were my wife and I 20 years younger, we think we would try to adopt her. God bless all of the older orphans.

  • i met some koreans who were also adopted and raised in Scandinavia. From what I have heard girls have it a bit easier than guys, the guys just get picked on and beaten up at school. Girls also face difficulty but not as much violence as guys. Overall they are nice friendly people with very interesting life stories to tell.

  • wow she got really nice hair

  • china ftw

  • some words in swedish sound just exactly like in english

  • what is this about?

  • I think this shows that cultural and ethnic identiy and personal identity can be painfully interlinked. And they shouldn't be. In the US, a country built on imigration, these kinds of thoughts are not at all as common, because diversity is more natural. If a society helps citizens to engineer their own identity based on how they perceive themselves, and on what they want to do with their lives, no kind of "who am I"-anxiety would ever exist.

  • a nice story :)

  • there's a baby in this movie that looks just like me. I am from Wuhan, China and i was adopted too. When i was 1 1/2 my american parents' came to china and adopted me. My mom is swedish! And i go to sweden every year! I stay in gothenburg and i go to stocholm to see my cousin's and uncle's. I really start to cry when i think about my chinese parents. I'm really glad we have a lot in common.

  • hows sweden? are people nice over there?

  • @imgordonfreeman yes it is :)

  • china is too big,a single goverment cant managed it well

  • BIg soo what?

do u see how canada manages it, and thats bigger than china :)

  • not by population i mean

  • Your a fucking retard!!

Have you ever thought about bigger countries having bigger governments? DUH!!

  • ur fucking stupid ignorant bastard thats what u are bitch!

i bet u dont even know how many people in china lives in poverty, they dont even own a toilet...bigger gov?dumbass, count how many minister,pm in china compared to overall population,do some math stupid!

  • hum... first of all we know.... 1.3 Billion, but its poverty because of communism... do u see any communist country that is living well off? theres your answer!

  • I wouldn't blame communism for their problems. They have done a GREAT job lowering the % of poverty in their country. They used to have 60% poverty 25 years ago now they only have around 10%. This is a HUGE improvement. The majority of poverty in China come from the countryside. This is largely due to the lack of jobs and opportunities in the country side. As a result of this, a lot of people migrate to big cities.

  • well you do have a good point there "yellowman88" its impressive how well china has improved the living conditions, and thats they should be proud of...

but in international standards they are still considered poverty, so hopefully they should get out of it soon, nonetheless i believe communism is slowing them down but thats my opinion only^^

  • compare smaller population like singapore with china

  • Your logic fails to support other countries with small populations living with high poverty rates.

The reason why Singapore is rich is b/c they had a lot of foreign investors long time ago. This lead to their economic development. Singapore has a very large business sector as a result of of this.

Certain areas of China lack economic development, mainly the countryside. Similar to the US deep countryside where racial tensions still exist to this day.

  • That is a very touching story. I hope the girls either find their biological parents or are able to put it behind them.

  • my heart aches everytime i see this kind of story. i hope like you do.
