OMG when I was watching this Bacharach medley I kept thinking "all that's missing is Dionne" and then Paris Bennett introduces her...man, I screamed so loud I bet all the neighbours thought my house was being robbed *hahaha*

I agree it's a shame the smoking and constant singing wore out her voice but it's still good to see her get out and celebrate her legacy with young budding singers :-D

No its not like that - a singer's voice doesnt have to be in prime condition to still be beautiful, moving and expressive. I think her presence here was exciting and I was moved by it. People age, there is nothing to be done about it - we'll all be there, so show some respect, please.

It's sad really to see that the voice has gone. I mean there's nothing left to show off now is there? Burt could still sing them because at least he wrote the songs, but it's a bit sad watching Dionne, because now you have to watch her and remember what she used to sound like. People are so disrespectful of these legendary women. First Dionne, and now it's Diana's turn for all abuse. These women have paid their dues, and yes, they're not as attractive and their voices not as strong, but they have absolutely NOTHING to prove. Respect them.

Some people are so unforgiving. Dionne has put a lot of wear over her voice over a 45-year singing career, and chain smoking has caused the change in the color of her voice. She still brings out the that haunting feeling in "Walk on By", one of her signature songs, and she's still selling out concerts. What her voice has lost in range and power it has only gained in wisdom. The end.

Dionne's a class act... end of story... 4 those of you crticizing her voice at her age (66)... yes her voice is not what it was 10 years ago, but she is an American and worlwide ledgend who's songs never grow old. P.S. have you hear Cissy Houston on the new cd - Family First, with Whitney, Dionne and the rest of the family.. her voice is even more badly worn than Dionne's, but that doesn't reduce her as a singer or performer either.

Dionne's delicate yet strong voice held up quite well over the first 30 or so years of her amazing 40-plus-year career considering the demands she'd put on it. That voice probably has more miles on it than any other singer of her era. Dionne still puts on a satisfying show but I've noticed it takes longer for her to warm up. But it's worth the wait.
