@BarefootArizona My friend hiked it in Vibram Five Fingers. I wouldn't recommend barefoot. Not that you can't, but you run the risk of injury on a strenuous trek. I'm a classic hiking boot person myself. Good luck....
@LilyAZ Thanks. I think I am going to hike it this Saturday. I'm takin my Vibram's, but I probably won't use them. Thanks for the advice, and I can't wait to visit this mountain. Don't worry, I will not litter and I will respect the locals : )
@BarefootArizona I'd recommend going super early morning if you're going Saturday - the heat will be really debilitating later in the day. I'd be on the trail by first light. In summer I typically only do northern hikes & leave desert treks for fall/winter. Glad you're bringing your Vibrams you may want them for cable pulls & some gravel/rocky spots. Also, don't forget gloves for the cable pulls. I'm sure you know about plenty of water! :) Let me know how you make out. Have a safe hike.
@BarefootArizona Be safe - post again and let me know how you did. Remember to always let someone know where you're going in detail if you're going solo too. Hopefully you have a hiking partner though. Take good care.
@hjdnad This time it came through! Thank you so much for trying until it worked, that was so nice of you; as was your email note .... I'm so happy you enjoyed it and appreciate the kind words!
Yes ... I don't mess with the English and their tea.....they have an art form! :-)
Lisa thank you....am so glad you enjoy these....I'm looking forward to doing the England ones too, I enjoy the research the most when I make them. xo ps we can no longer do a video response, can we? I wanted us to do that with the England ones :(
@WitchesSky Oh, Lisa, thank you so so much! You know you're the one who inspired me to try movie maker....and it definitely hooked me now! I'm so happy you liked it that much! Your comment came through fine, I sure miss the star ratings don't you? Thank you about making me a dvd once I have more finished. After Arizona I am doing England. Thanks Lisa xxxx
Lily...some great shots and a good reply to Lisa's English countryside! It makes me want to pack up and head to Four Corners! I have never been here but I seem to have been there now with you *****
@tps607 that would be nice, Tom. I'm going back for my 3rd visit to Lisa's next May, 2011 :) Can't wait! I'll be doing England videos from my first 2 visits once I finish the AZ HIking series. I'm slow though LOL
the music, the pictures, everything. I'm about 30miles from there. I can't believe how green it is. I'd like to hike that before the valley reverts back to it's brown.
I was taking to someone who said I should 'get up there before it closes'. I laughed and told him that just because they close it doesn't mean you can't go there, It's public not private property. It just means there will be no one to take care of the place (or collect fees).
@MikePresents2 Thanks for the kind comments Mike, am really happy you enjoyed! Yes the desert is super green right now from all our extra rain, it's lovely out there.
My friend said I couldn't hike this mountain barefoot. Then, he even had the nerve to TRIPLE DOG DARE ME!
I'm goin in a couple of weeks and I'm not takin any shoes : )
