The only time a Wooden Man must be at your height requirement is when you are learning how to use it. Afterwards, you should adjust the height up and down as so you can learn how the techniques apply to taller/shorter opponents. Saying a dummy is too tall is the same as saying to an attacker, 'could you kneel down please.'

And I've used it in real world combat missions on more than 6 deployments overseas. But I ALWAYS gave my enemies respect. Dont judge greatness simply by ones own capabilities, but by those he passes them to. If anyone is truly looking for a great teacher, look at his students and how they conduct themselves.

There are a lot of criticisms about a lot of things...."wooden dummy too tall", fighting tall people", "cashing in on Ip Man's name", "BS", "wasting time"....and so on. First off, there is a brotherhood, love and respect for the martial arts by true martial artists, and it is given to those who have dedicated their lives to passing on a legacy. People have mane opinions about many things, and I believe that is okay. But disrespectful people have no place in any circle of any organization.....

I don't think a person can criticize if he or she doesn't even have the basic respect and spirit of martial arts and that's just very basic stuff of all excellent martial artists.

See, those moves look slow and stuff. But it doesn't reflect their real power in a shi shou.
