Yours look great and sound superb. I wonder if you have instaled the big bore exhaust. Am i right?. What about those air vents in the bonet?. How you made them?. An idea about the cost?. Did they finally solved the vapor lock problem in the carburatr chambers?. Did you tried to drive her in slow high traffic with no temperature raise?. Im planing on doing something alike. Suggestions?.
Oh, i have a Facebok group for mga owners. May we add this video in our group wall?
@jgdudy Hi there. Sorry for taking so long to respond. The exhaust is standard, but there is a sports manifold fitted. The engine is fairly tuned, there is a hotter cam, stage three head, piper pistons, balanced crank - that probably effects the sound a lot. Steve who drives the car is also a mechanic so he has done all the work on the car. The vents make a huge difference, no vapour lock, but there s also heat tape around the exhaust and manifold. She runs fine in traffic. Feel free to use.
Hi George, great video. Thanks for posting it. Im a proud spanish mga owner too. Shes a 1960 MK-I with several swaps like the 1.8 litre MGB engine, a Ford Sierra 5 speed gearbox, whire wheels, disc brakes, oil radiator, alternator, and the 3.9 MGB diferential.
Well I guess the official answer is we never break the speed limit - do we. The real problem is that I am too busy to video on a regularity or doing a run like the Turini. That's when it gets a bit more exiting. I think I'll rig a camera frame for the next rally.
Love it George specially your explosion photo at the start, chasing us & of course overtaking the Etype! No sign of us in the ditch at Col de L'Echarasson thank goodness for that! Does justice to the volumes of snow which folks never seem to believe is as spectacular as we say. Do you really drive that fast Alan said!
My dad owns one of these but his is a coupé'. Were turning it into a rally car too
