I'm teaching English in Japan and the Japanese English teachers in the schools take short cuts in teaching the kids pronunciation because Japanese doesn't have a number of English sounds. The only way around this is to hire a native teacher. Which is quite expensive.
Example of mispronunciation in Japan: The letter 'V', pronounced 'vee' by native English speakers, is taught to sound 'boo-ee' because there simply is no 'V' sound in Japanese. The kids can do it if they try, but it's a chore.

There are people who are struggling at every stage in life. Have you forgotten the teachings of the Lord so quickly. wtf. this is a bullshit story. dont believe any of this shit. the people which this news exploited as English teachers are part of the school cleaning staff. the news station bribed the school to gain the permission to do such a thing. based on their expressions, you can tell they were ordered to stop mopping the floors for a second, and instead told to get in front of the camera to teach "english" to the whole class while the actual teachers laughed at the whole scenario.

India has its own English dialect, a dialect different from British, american or Australian dialects. Indian english is not be compared with others. :)

Their are 21 different Indian languages that Indians speak...How many languages do the average Americans speak? This is a POOR part of the country...How often do they show the developed/modern parts of India on T.V? So how the fuck would Americans know any better... I went to college in India and most professors here are EXTREMELY intellectual and their ENGLISH is FAR superior... But that's not stereotypical enough to show on TV is it?

I'm teaching English in Japan and the Japanese English teachers in the schools take short cuts in teaching the kids pronunciation because Japanese doesn't have a number of English sounds. The only way around this is to hire a native teacher. Which is quite expensive.
Example of mispronunciation in Japan: The letter 'V', pronounced 'vee' by native English speakers, is taught to sound 'boo-ee' because there simply is no 'V' sound in Japanese. The kids can do it if they try, but it's a chore.

@dgc1347 Most educated Indians speak better english than any American and British. First of all you're looking at a poor part of india in some village and a poor teacher who only knows hindi and is translating those hindi words into Roman script exactly as it would be written if it was hindi in roman script. This is not a normal regular school system for India. English is the second co-official language there. They don't need you there are less educated people in USA :) which is pathetic

Anything goes in India! Who cares if this teacher has every spelling wrong? These kids know what "Sande" means, which in any case is not their native language. Remember this is also an Indian TV channel that is pointing this out! Indians will produce both ingenious solutions and the greatest, most stupid mistakes like this. But think India would worry?
