It may be that it, because like me, you have only 2 hands, the left press the unworking button, and the right shakes the bell.

Wouldn't want to be stuck in the elevator with that alarm that's for sure... LOL . I love the stop switch too reminds me of the one in the 1969 Montgomery here in my building with the postions marked stop on the right side and off on the left. The bell is much louder and more reliable though compared to this elevator, at least the clapper stays in.
