  • I hear 2001s and tbolts

  • This siren has a very fast wind-up!

  • I couldn't see this siren. Is it yellow?

  • Very good sound. It still seems pretty loud even though you were far away.

  • i think it might be a p-15 because it has a fast wind up

  • Yes this one is a P-15, the pitch also gives it away. The P-15s tend to run just a little faster than the P-10s due to the 5 extra horsepower, so their pitch is equivalently higher. Nice catch!

  • What about the one in Amarillo

  • You mean KDK's? If so, that's definitely a P-15, but labeled as a P-10. It hits a higher pitch than a P-10 hits normally. If you want to hear the difference between a P-10 and a P-15 (both dual tone), listen to the Three Mile Island P-10 and KDK's "P-10" video, you'll hear an immediate difference in both windup length and top-end pitch.

  • Yep. When you mean labeled, are you talking about the video title? You should probably tell him that it is a P-15. Were single-toned P-10s made?

  • Yeah lol I meant the title. I think I did leave him a comment on there and told him it was a P-15 but idk if he ever got it. Ya know, to be honest I'm really not sure, but as far as what I've seen/heard both in videos on here and in person, I have yet to come across one. I wouldn't see why not since the P-10 and P-15 use the identical noise-making parts, just different sized motors.

  • finally i get something right about a tornado siren

  • Something tells me that the older P-10/15s used the cone-shaped intake tube, and the newer ones used the straight tube.

  • Actually it all depends on the rotor configuration. The cone-shaped ones were used on the dual-tone rotor setups while the straight ones were used on the single-tone versions. The only time they made an exception to that was when they had the straight intake with the damper in it for pulse signal, as seen on the red dual-tone P-10 that Westy recorded.

  • Also, that sick P-10 has the straight intake and is dual-tone.

  • Can you see a partition (or flap) in the intake? Might be one of those special "third signal" ones like I was talking about, but I'd have to see it good to be sure.

  • Could that 3rd tone be the motor? It sounds exactly an octave lower than the 9th port of the 9/12 port siren?

  • ACA Stopped making the P-10 cause the motor died due to too much load. To solve this problem ACA came out with the P-15 which solved the problem. Hope this helps.

  • i saw it

  • NIce Siren sounds like the ones we have here around TMI

  • i hate football,pasta is good,i dont know why i care...

  • Why do you care? Why do people like football? Why do people like pasta??

    Go eat a cup cake.

  • Awesome video. I like the air planes that fly by, too, in the video.

  • Is this the one you got tricked into thinking it was a 500AT? Also, have you found that new siren that you think is a T-128?

  • No, it was the other P-10. On Cleves-Warsaw and Linneman. Its the lower pitched one you hear in my warning clips.

  • So is it a T-128, just like you thought?

  • i have no idea, i have not the time to investigate. :(

  • Now I'm getting confused. Right here, you're saying other P-10 is at Cleves-Warsaw Pike & Linneman Rd. In your description of your video with em sounding June 4 says that P-10 at Linneman Rd & Sidney Rd sounds worst than ever. Where is the other P-10 actually located exactly? I've used Google Maps on street view, and I can't find it.

  • its Cleves-Warsaw. I'm just a ditz. You can't see it from the street on google maps.

  • The sirens really have gotten a "work out" so far this month. Especially on the 3rd and 4th of this month. But our sirens here in Hillsboro don't sound near as cool as the Cincy sirens. When I lived in Cincy, I tried to always make it a point to be outside when they tested the sirens. I lived in Westwood about a block from the Kroger store that was at Harrison Ave. and McKinley. They had a siren on a pole there in the parking lot. (probably still do) but anyway, great post! I love the sirens.

  • I think I see the P10, it's the barely seen black speck where you said it was.

  • Yep! That would be it! I was going to record it this month, but because we had bad weather that morning and sounded the sirens, they cancelled the test for this month.

    Poo.

I don't know when I'll have another Wednesday off.

  • Oh man, the cameramanship in the first minute of the video made me nauseous...

  • haha, sorry, i was rushing an was going nuts.

  • lol, s'alright. Here in Jacksonville they never have siren tests. Dunno why; sirens are usually put to use for tornadoes and floods, right? Florida's got that, Jacksonville included. But I haven't ever heard a siren test in this city.

  • Excellent video!

  • You can potentially hear a Thunderbolt in the mix if I am not mistaken.

  • yep, thats a thunderbolt. a 1000T. chopper setting on 6 or 7ish.....

  • That Thunderbolt you're hearing is on top of Delhi Middle School. There's also a 2001 being heard, and I believe that one sits on top of College of Mt. St. Joe's.
