I'm tired of all these people saying that KISS is no good without Ace and Peter. They sound better now than they ever have. KISS will always be KISS even without them. They had to leave the band because of drug issues and the band needed to move forward; no matter who is in the band they will ALWAYS be KISS and nothing will ever change that, espically a couple of the members leaving.

Is somebody actually comparing Van Halen over KISS? Eddie may be technically better but Ace is much better at writing memorable riffs. Every Van Halen album is basically a couple good songs surrounded by a lot of filler. Then came Hagar & it all went to Hell. KISS albums are a better listening experience all the way through, the songs are consistently good. Then they took the makeup off a& it all went to Hell. They put it back on & it got better, then they hired Fake Ace & Fake Peter...sad

Geesh Almighty! I'm 50 this April. When I hit Drake in DesMoines, Iowa , by the end of 1978 I saw Marshall Tucker Band, The Who and K I S S ! At the Des Moines Veterans Auditorium only about 250 dudes came in and compressed their HEADS shut becuz the concussion shock from the 5 foot wide smoke rings was enough to knock you out of the building. You watch Ace using the pick on the guitar solos instead of the Eddie Van Halen two hand technique, and that gets a much cleaner sound needed to be a great live band.

I follow the video strings, and when Ace was gone, they just were not the same. Not many guys could play those solos live (and the same way every time)with the speed and cleanliness that guy could.

Shame they can't keep the lineup together.

I saw KISS around '77 '78 in Pine Bluff Ark.  It was worth EVERY cent of the 10 or 12 bucks I paid for the ticket. They had a different stage than this. They came onto the stage by rising up out of itat 4 different spots. The fire dept said there would be No fire but There WAS fire , rockets explosions. I saw Boston Aerosmith Clapton Ozzy Cheap Trick Allman Bros...at PBCC none came close to Kiss
