not only is this song about cutting everyday sounds, but there is a deeper meaning of excessive logging and how it affects the tribes that live in these forest...
@Obliviom - yes, I was watching this show very often with my friends, we were waiting for it always a couple of hours doing other things like chilling, smoking, playing games... and it was worthy to wait for :)
lovely memories...... and great to find here connections to them :)
I saw this video for the first time on an old MTV show called "AMP" - it was all electronic music videos, they played it at like midnight on weekends in the 90s.
wow - had this when I was but a wiener - legendary - is it true it was made from all original samples? Absolute skills on this - puts my faith back in youtube finding these little gems...
I encourage You to download and post all my and others videos on truth to spread the truth faster. At least post this encouragement in Your channel or repost the ones You like. It's not some contest.

omg 90s flash back. A hint of LSD still left over in my spinal chord was stirred up from this song causing me to teleport back to 1997 just so I could watch MTV's Amp again.
i forgot how much this touched me... when i say touched me i obviously mean it has a great emotional impact, and not touched me like the way that santa who stank of dogs ends and cheap whisky did in his grotto when i was 6...

So is this song only truly effective on some type of drug? Poor trees? Poor 500 million starving human or all the people in Haiti? Darfour? ARe you fucking kidding me? Let's save the fucking trees before we end the suffering of things with nervous systems?
youre an idot!i dont think i heard or saw anything in this video or song saying not to save humans!!we humans need trees and nature to survive!!!!did you not learn that in elementary science?!
@Cr8zyCanuck dude... its BECAUSE humans might soon outnumber trees ( ever seen what happens to a park or forest when a natural main predator is dyeing off? Animals it eats starve because they over-populate-> cant this be the same for all things?) no one said there isn't more than one problem you dumb fuck, this is just how the artist feels -> why bother even commenting?
Man and his Goddamned killing machines. The tide continues to turn and the pendulum swings the other way as machines turn against man. Now, that is awesome. Everytime I hear of a human fatality caused by man-made machines I become estatic. I do not applaud the accomplishments made by man and his machines. I applaud those machines in the taking of its human victims. At least cost. Muh. ha.ha.ha.ha.ha
The voice in all that chaos is increadible it's like a nature itself: calm, melancholic and absolutely lovely. This music makes me flow with the voice and feel the touch of mother nature.
Exactly! She's a native south american I believe, she represents humanity still in tune and in balance with nature, our past and our possible future, in my opinion.
i do believe i heard breakbeat / bigbeat before this album was made. if you want some of the old electronica that this originate from, you should listen to Skinny Puppy, Front 242, and a cpl more from the late 80s to get a better pic of where this kind of music started. Or listen to Kraftwerk if you want to listen to the pioneers :)
Why? I mean, this isn't Coldcut's debut, they are active since the 80s. They may not be the true pioneers like Kraftwerk but meanwhile (25 years later) you could as well call Coldcut pioneers, too. They are very influential and are constantly trying out new things.
BTW, the "true" pioneer that inspired Coldcut the most was Steinski.
Indeed. Chemical Brothers' "Dig Your Own Hole" was about a year earlier (1996) and there was a heap of stuff in around 92-93 which pretty much got the genre started off in not that far off its present form.

Its the vocal that makes this track exceptional for me. So hauntingly beautiful, especially when combined with the tribal images.
Very poignant, brilliantly edited and arranged track and video. Much love for Hexstatic / Coldcut.
