  • Yes, Nelson has kept the music alive with good musicians and very entertaining live shows. The band puts on fun performances to enthusiastic crowds. Get over the lack of the "holy trinity" that many people comment on. Get out and see them and enjoy. Support live music, before it isn't!!!

  • It's so not true. I'm happy LRB is still together because of Wayne Nelson. To me, the ability to still hear their music live is a gift. If you don't like them now...stay home.

  • The current line up a just a bunch of fakers. LRB is NOTHING without Glenn Shorrock, Beeb Birtles and Graeme Gobles. Oh and there ain't no two sides to this story.

  • The current line up a just a bunch of fakers. LRB is NOTHING without Glenn Shorrock, Beeb Birtles and Graeme Gobles.

  • Yeah!!!he ain't Little River Band or LRB, what absolute crock of shit. Firstly he is an American !!! Secondly he is poor musician and lastly no Shoreck no Whealty No Graeme that's the band ,what people claimed to have see is someone trading on a fucken name!!!!!!!! Disgraceful.

  • saw LRB in Richmond Hill Saturday night...the band jammed and my wife got all their signatures on 2 shirts

  • LRB will be coming to Panama City Beach Fla next month at the Seafood festival I believe the 2nd week of October 2010. Plan to be there!

  • I just seen them in Auburn, Indiana at the fair

  • i,d rather the original Little river band than this fluff that plays theses days. Anyway. Nice guy Wayne joined this group after they had many hits.He was given his chance, yet ignores the acheivements of the guys who did all the work. They surely must bring Glenn & Gobles & Birtles back. Imagine the Eagles without its key members.

  • @sunsets1977 I saw LRB about 3 yrs ago..sounding great. Nelson is the most awesome bassist. Amazed me how he could play a difficult base and sing lead. It isn't his fault others chose to quit..lighten up.

  • @autumnday43 Well it was publically known the original members wanted to resume its musicianship as the Little River band but was shut down due to copyrite of the name by another current band member who shall remain nameless.I was enlightened about Wayne a long time ago...ok musician. Gobles doesnt agree ,he ought to have named the guys who made the group its name rather than acting like he just dont care.BTW they never chose to quit,..it was that copyrite fellow who messed up....like big time.

  • @sunsets1977 Let's face it, there are always two OR MORE sides to every story and the only ones who know the facts are those directly involved.

  • @autumnday43 well they ought to all lighten up and get it back together. Imagine if they Eagles went on that way. Little kiddies or to become mature adults once again. Who put in the hard yards, why dont they just wake up and realise its about all who made that group..not just the latest randy scouse git who want all the credit.Maybe Mr Nameless felt intimidated cuz he has to work his butt off while people like Glenn, Graeme and Beeb still get songwriting fees for the songs. Why not a reunion ?

  • @autumnday43 Most sensible comment I've read this month :)

  • Gobles once said that the best line up of LRB was right after Wayne Nelson joined the group - I've always liked his singing and his big hit, "Night Owl."

  • Another guy who makes me feel NOT ashamed to go bald

  • Wayne Nelson isn't the Little River Band. That was Glenn Shorrock, Grame Goble, Beeb Birtles and Derek Pellici. This Nelson character is just trading off the name of a great, great band.

  • @zapkvr Wayne Nelson Is the original singer of "Take it Easy On Me" and "Night Owl" - that makes him at leat the original of those two songs. The others signed an agreement that if they ever quit - they gave up their interest in the band (as did Nelson when his daughter passed and he left). Nelson has been hard at work keeping the music alive and he's a very good person. He doesn't deserver to be put down.

  • Thanks for sharing this great interview! Ron

  • 3BW, opening for The Little River Band, Sept 24th at Celebration FL, for Music fest, woot woot!!!!! :) Rod.

  • Great musician. Playing bass and singing incredible leads is SO hard to to. Ask Sir Paul.

  • any singers 5 part, whatever, does it.. Islander church mass, do it naturely

  • The Eagles Glen Frey says LRB are the best singing band ever. Him and Shorrock are good friends

  • what cause the original guys 2 leave i liked glenn shorock he could sang his ass off.

  • Messina is a genius!

Listen closely to songs like Be Free and Whispering Waters (both versions) WOW!

  • Sign me up as a bassist!

    I sing

  • The Bassist McArdle left, after finishing a U.S. tour in the spring of 1979, to take up Bible study (He eventually pursued a totally different path as a minister). Barry Sullivan took over on bass until American Wayne Nelson joined in 1980 (He is currently the group's lead singer).

  • really? cool.

  • Gobles, Birtles and Shorrock were great songwriters and performers. Saw Gllenn Shorrock live a few weeks ago in Melbourne. He still sounds great singing all those classics.

  • This current line up of Little River Band are riding on the hard work of the original line up.

  • That's called capitalism. The former members sold the name and rights to Nelson and behold the glory of his efforts. Get over yourself! LRB rides on and is doing well for themselves. Get over it!

  • Actually, they didn't "sell" the name and rights at all. The legal name and rights were 'apparently' handed over by former Manager Glenn Wheatley and "inherited" by guitarist Stephen Housden, after the last original member, Derek Pellici had left the band. This line up will never have anything on the original.

Birtles, Shorrock, Goble - these are the guys who made LRB the household name it is in Australia, America and around the world. Try to remember that fact when you see them perform, OK?

  • dude they kick fucking ass. i saw them last night and they blew away BAD COMPANY singer brian howe outta the water.

  • FLASHBACK! Played a couple times with Wayne, met him in Santa Barbara back in the 70's...The bass player in our band took lessons from Wayne too! Great to see you Wayne wherever you are!Lost track of you when you left town with Little River Band!

  • That Jim Messina Oasis band was bad ass.... so was the original L&M band for that matter.

  • Very Nice,

    Thanks :)
