California has it's statues of limitations because every local government has violated thousands of children for profit. The state, the courts including US District Court are all criminals if they are not responsible for the crime they arrange it so the state and state officials the criminals are not held accountable. When I was a young teen I was Dr. Ayres private patient for years and he never did anything remotely inappropriate. I trusted him and was alone with him a lot. He did nothing but help me and talk to me about my problems. I can't vouch for how he was with other patients, and I know he worked with a lot of seriously ill court order patients. I do know that with me and a lot of other patients he was nothing but a grade A+ shrink.

Having sex with patients is not a standard form of therapy. It's a ruse they use, but it is neither ethical nor legal. Any psychiatrist or child psychiatrist who is found to be having sex with their patients will have their licenses taken away. All pedophiles use ruses like that.

And no sexually abusing a child is not a mandated part of therapy. It is in fact a felony. The APA has issued statements on this. Molesting a child, or an adult patient, is not condoned by the psychiatric field.

No, lie detector tests are not permissable in court. But they can be used in civil suits to gauge truth of victims. By the way, one victim of Dr. Ayres already settled a sizeable civil suit with Dr. Ayres. The man was molested almost 30 years earlier. No one pays out that kind of money unless there's guilt.. The victim's lawyer were able to prove it happened. Also, they found another victim of Dr. Ayres who had actually gone to the police as a boy, so there was a trail of documents.

They went to the cops, to Childrens Services,to the doctor's partners, and to their parents. And actually it's not more difficult to prove as time goes by. Why do you think states like Connecticut actually have statutes that say you can come forward til you're 50 ? Experts say that most victims don't want to start dealing with it til their mid thirties.

Prosecutors and civil lawyers can determine which victims are telling the truth. Liedetector tests are administered.

Believe me, most of the molestation claims against the Church (and Dr. Ayres) are not false. A few are, but the majority are not. It is very hard for a sane man to come forward to say he was molested. Some 80 % of men never will.
