I've learned so much because you've taken the time to upload these videos man. I'll buy your DVD one of these days when I've got the spare cash for it, but for now keep the great lessons coming, very mery much appriciated. *thumbs up*
yo Randy, where you able at some point in your drumming career to just play those 3 ride notes almost involuntarily, I mean like you don't concentrate on what other drums you hit at the same time and stuff like that? Like full independence?
Hey, I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and i still watch them very regularly. I'm interested in purchasing a new drum set, and I really like the sound of yours. I was just wondering what type of wood your toms are made of. Thank you so much, and I love the videos!
Try playing the beat slower. Don't play anything faster than you can control it. Play it as slow as you need to to get the groove right. Then slowly speed up once you get it. It can be frustrating but once you see results it will all pay off. RVP
if you guys are having trouble keeping time with the hi hat you should check out his other video about that because the way he shows you to do it works great and if you do it repetitively it happens like unexpectedly lol good lessons!
What kind of set is that? Just wondering cause it sounds really good? Nice drumming by the way. Drumming today is all about blast beats and seeing whos the fastest, drumming is losing its groove.
I agree. And the youth of my age is so hooked on being in punk/metal bands. I decided that I'd jam with them for experience, but I'll start my own groovy band one day. :)
man, im stoked. i just loaded my kit up with new evans g1 coated. slapped on a new batter head for my snare. made some new adjustments with cymbals. ohh they sound gooood!!! so much more fun to play!
Counting the 16th notes I am playing. You count 16th notes as 1e&a 2e&a 3e&a 4e&a. The "a" is not played in that groove so I am only counting the notes I am playing. RVP
hello im just wandering what drum kit i should upgrape to next im 13 and i want a new drum kit the one i have now is a stagg jumiour rubbish one can you advise me on a drum kit which is really good and chaep thenkyou. wills
idk man find one that you really like i guess that sounds the way you want it to and is in your price range. personally im just getting some higher quality heads on my stagg shells and makin it sound like a high quality drum set.
Hi Willsie, my choice for your next kit, would be a Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage. You can get them near new for under $1000. Change the skins to Evans EC2', about $120, & you'll have a kit thats sounds Punchy, Solid, & with minimal overtones. For the snare, sit an overtone ring on it, $10, & that will take out any over ring, will crack without crackbuzzz, lol. How do i know ?, i got one, 8peice rack kit, & the skins did wonders compared to the standard ones. totally changed it, good luck. John.
your kit always sounds amazing especially the cymbals and toms, you sick on the drums by the way,how do u tune ur drums?(cud u give me a brief description pls)
