I don't watch this show. However, yesterday it was on Sky Living and there wasn't anything else on so I decided to watch it since my friends like it. I wasn't expecting all this though, I thought it'd just be a medical drama with a bit of love & heartbreak thrown in, but this absolutely shocked me. I have no idea what these characters' stories are yet I was hoping that somehow they'd all be ok. It's terrifying that this kind of thing can happen. Raoul Moat for example in the UK. Scary..

When I saw the season 5 finale I thought that was the best finale yet, but this one has to be even better, the first time you watch it your on edge for the whole episode! Just got season 7 on dvd in the uk so Im watching it later hope its just as good as this season was.

The only ones from mercy west I actually liked were Keopner and avery. The rest were super mean and I'm glad theyre dead. (reed is dead and I'm not sorry) percy was ok but I didn't really care for him .

She did not need to be messed with, and that little prick broke her down with his two-facedness. Mercy west people all had it coming, I totally agree with you. @Blo0dyFist We don't know that the SWAT team had orders to kill Gary Clark. It was never stated or implied in the episode. Maybe SWAT was ordered to take him alive. If that's the case then that might explain why the SWAT member shot Gary in the shoulder instead of taking him out. Also, wasn't Lexie Grey in the way at the time? Maybe he couldn't get a clear shot because she was in the way. He couldn't just shoot through her. I don't know how SWAT teams work. Do they typically kill or capture?

@Lizfan2 In that case, they had to kill him. He killed at least one person/hostage. Police don't take lethal action as long as no hostage has been harmed. In that case, it was shoot to kill... they probably didnt have any better idea how to save Lexie when Gary confronts her face to face without killing him off. Those were all poorly writen. But I have to agree that maybe Lexied was in his line of shot. I will watch it again to take alook closer. Peace!

Amazingly incredible!!!! the scene happened at the hospital, involving to many lives, that mislead into ending lives and lead into saving lives..... But what makes this 2 episodes unforgettable? the characters who'd been unexpectedly witnessing the event that they can't easily take, but somehow, they manage to showed forgiveness, acceptance, love, true friendship, cooperation, understanding and being a strong person who willingly die for someone.

@Mklowertsa The guy's name is Gary Clark. His wife died at the hospital in an earlier season 6 episode. He blamed the surgeons in general & 3 people in particular:Lexie Grey(nurse), Derek Sheppard(doctor & chief of the hospital), & the former chief of the hospital(forgot his name). So Gary bought a gun & went to the hospital to kill the 3, & killed anyone who got in his way & anyone who tried to stop him(verbally or otherwise).

@xXHoneychuckXx his wife was a patient of Derek Shepards before he became chief of surgery, and ended up suffering a stroke and they told him she was brain dead so they were gonna pull the plug and he didn't want that but derek told him he had to by law, and the guy became angry throughout the season and came back to sue shepard but that didn't do any good, so that guy came back to kill shepard and all who had a hand in his wife's surgery.

I loved both of these episodes. My only critique is the location of the bullet that shot Derek. Christina said it was lodged near the aorta but the bullet was no where near the aorta. The gsw was to the abdomen. Away from the aorta but not all are as analytical as I am.

It's worth to add that the shooter was killing people who told him that they're surgeons and were unpleasant to him. Ad first he was planning to kill only ("only".. how strange it sounds..) Derek, little Grey and chief Webber, because they unplugged his wife.
