a better way to add weight would be to carve out the back. then you melt some lead and pour it into the cavity, this allows you to distribute the weight in many more ways.
@carywhitt I'm not quite sure of your question. If you add more weight to the back of the car and shift the center of gravity further back, the car will be faster. Also, if you move the axels closer to the end of the car, the car will be more stable with more weight to the back.
i drilled a whole in the back of my car and i put slip shot wieghts in my car then put in wood putty to fill it back in and i came in first in a turnoument
