  • the song has the same riff as machine gun by hendrix

  • DRAGON SUIT, ALMIGHTY ZEP amen.

  • i agree with faultlinefreebird.

    or bong rips...

    preferably haze,cush,sour diesel,or hash.

    zeppelin so heavy!!

  • Give em time, they probably will

  • did you know that led zepplin was voted top best rovk singer ever??? i think that is awsome!!!!!

  • erm... i'm not too sure abou that one... e phrygian is e f g a b c d and c#dorian is c# d# e f# g# a# b; if you look at the tabs the main riff hits b c# g# f# and e, the piano and guitar solos often hit the a#. i don't think they ever hit f g c d or even a, so e phrygian is pretty much ruled out.

  • this song makes me wanna smoke a bowl.

  • I'm stunned

  • what key is this in???

  • C# dorian

  • ta :D

  • Someone tell me, someone please tell me; in the last 40 years has there ever been, anywhere, any time, any concert, any culture a BLUES solo that can match that in No Quarter??

    God love ya Jimmy.

  • hardly

  • sounds just like a riff in Machine Gun, the main riff he plays with Billy Cox

  • I second that I bought it for five quid well worth the money

  • BUY the movie, The Song Remains the Same.

  • The lick on this is mind blowing

  • agreed, it is one of their wrongfully underated songs, but let us enjoy those few good songs out there that not everyone has had tha chance to appreciate, that makes it better i think.

  • the best version of my favourite song,

sat here with a whiskey, eyes closed just taking it in

  • ill drink to that! i feel ya man.

  • John Paul Jones is the most underated musician in the world. I wonder how many times he said try this chord or this note here. Millions of times. This song should be called No Credit.

  • omg.

    i´ve no words

  • i honestly think that 1973 was zeppelin's year they were on top of their game... great band, but after 77 they started to get sloppy my opinion but fucken awsome song jpj very underated.

  • Zeppelin was always on top of their game.

  • Wow dude go play in traffic no cares about your stupid insults. You insulting a band that ppl would kill just to see again if they came bak so stfu

  • as john paul jones said , led zeppelin are indeed a "groovy" band.

  • come on,bob marley?

  • WOW! This song is FANTASTIC live! So much better than the studio version! Page's solo is absolutely PHENOMINAL! In the beginning it goes so fast you'd think it was a speed metal guitarist playing or something...

  • lol

i agree, its a very, very good live song of led zeppelin

  • amazing

    just...amazing

    :)

  • just reffering to the band in general

  • This is one of Zeppelins best songs live in my opinion.

    And seriously...why all the bickering?

In the words of Bob Marley 'Why this fussing and fighting?'

  • sooooo sick live

  • if i am not mistaking page came up with most the stuff

  • this is JPJ's work

  • you wanna try?

  • John Paul Johnes Pianoo!

  • o.0

Robert Plant, I think you mean? :l

  • Considering LED ZEPPELIN isn't a guy......that's pretty sad that you love "him". If you mean Robert Plant, he's an amazing singer........but......wow.

  • i must hate you and your comment. and your name.

  • MASTERPIECE!!

  • wow i love the Led Zeppelin :D

  • DetroitBalla21 you are a sad/mentally ill person. If it wasn't for their "hippie emo music" your SHIT might not even be here to pollute the ears of innocent young minds in the world. I'm sure Led Zeppelin inspired the minds of the people you like, but the people you like are tone def so they don't know how to make the music sound good; that then results into the shitty music that you listen to.

  • I'm pretty sure he just goes around trying to piss people off, he has comments on a lot of rock songs...he called em all hippie emo music...

  • Yeah, he's just another white kid who's all buthurt because he's not black. No place for that crap in music, or anywhere, for that matter.

  • haha

  • Agreed, that DetroitBalla guy needs to find better shit to do than spam insults towards the second most successful musical group in the world.

  • who is most succesfull?

  • ever heard of the Beatles?

  • Beatles

  • that was to detroitballa

  • you may continuelistening to your posers and frauds likelil wayne and the wigga eminemzwhos named after colour coated chocolates, sounds a bit fucking tryhard to me mate.listen to your rap shit, who needs to know how to sing or compose music when you can rip off other peoples tunes and randomly say shit and fuck in between sentences like "i got my fucking girlfriend, raped her like a cunt and fucker her mum"but the next time you wanna say some random untrue shit about led zep WE'LL STAB YOU!!

  • amazing

  • You are so dumb and blind! Didn't you understand that he was jocking? I guess sarcasm is only an opinion for you... Amazing...arguing on a web page! However, great music.

  • LED ZEPPELIN IS THE GREATEST

but it may be said that without The BAssist John Paul Johns we we would not have such songs yet it may stand apparent that we would still hae the great accoustic sounds that came off the led zeppelin 2 album and other such albums

    and

great songs like Gallows pole and bron-yr-aur

would still exist just with weaker bass driving them

  • You're right. The greatest band that ever was.But everyone has their own opinions, however wrong they might be.

  • There are on words to describe how great this is. I have this whole movie, the song remains the same, which I highly recomend. jacabeth you said it perfect, THIS song does take you somewhere else.

  • man, this song takes you somewhere else..... this song is soooo amazing!

  • good god detroitballa i see you everywere. You need to stop making fun of the best band in the world fag

  • detroitballa suck my left nut, Zeppelin is the shizzit brawski, sooooo go jam to some snoop on a boom box or someshit

  • hip hop is just a fad im sure that in a couple yrs most hiphop will be off the "shelfs" and just so you kno i bought a led zeppelin cd just last week because apperantly they are making money and are on the shelf

be thankful cos without led zeppelin you wouldnt be born, thats right led zepppelin FUCKED YOUR MOTHER

  • If hip-hop is just a fad, why has it been going strong for 30 years (which is about how long the Sugarhill Gang's first single came out) and survived Tipper Gore trying to wipe it off of store shelves?

  • I have to say this, without JPJ the mighty Led Zeppelin would go down like a lead balloon. Without him we would not have songs like this, or black dog, trampled underfoot, thats the way, going to california ect ect. ect.

  • Fuck off, assfuck.

  • Your a dumbass. Don't talk if you don't know anything.

  • who the fuck do u think u fuckin are?

led zeppelin is one of, if not the greatest band of all time. these people actualy put soul and feeling into there music unlike the little devil worshiping cunts you listen to.these guys spent years practicing and recording to make there music, whats someone like kanye west done? talked fast, so if u want to go and listen to that disgrace to music u call hip pop then FUCK OFF.

  • so magic.

  • XD well that works too haha

  • Led Zeppelin was a band made of pure talent, and as far as I know a management that witnessed this talent, and took full advantage. Thus they are now the most well known band of all time.

You can hear several different genres of music in their songs. Thus one cannot truely label them anything but rock.

  • I got the Led out in Indianapolis in January 1975. Page had broke his finger in a car door a couple of weeks prior to the show. You couldn't tell it, he was awesome. The highlight was the song No Quarter.

  • The lead phrase beginning at 5:32 is one of the best ever laid down. Talk about weeping.

  • i agree and he starts shredding at 6:20

  • fucking love that solo

  • damn i wish i was born in the 50's just so i could see bands like them live!

no one can even try & compare today

  • Because he's pretending to drink a martini and he's trying to explain something at the same time, so he just straight up mashes those hand motions into one. Oh yeah, and because it's effin' awesome.

  • definitely one of the stonier zep tunes

  • I was there! sitting on row A...I could never forget that smoke coming out of the synthesizer. The must magical rock experience in my life. They played for 4 hours straight!and came back for an encore with "Rock and Roll" from their first album.

  • ...uh, Rock and Roll is from their fourth album.

  • imo, 0:46 is the greatest guitar riff in any rock song. i get chills everytime i hear it.

  • how about you go and fuck yourself fucking peice of shit fag fuck you

    get better taste in movies

    u fuck shit

  • okay, circa winter 1975, blue cheer, putting up the christmas tree, no quarter on the turntable.......

    memories......

  • cuz hes high as shit lol

  • the solo made in this live version by page, is the best solo I ever listen, in my entire rotten life,

    there's no doubt about it,

    awesome!

  • This is such a sick song the guitar riff is insane

  • This rock!!! all members are great musicians virtuose ......TOOL SUCK please stop talking about fucking tool LED ZEPPELIN rock better than tool

  • yes led zeppelin fuckin rocks and if it werent for them there wouldnt be a tool but tool does not suck!

  • As a fan of both... I have to say, you're the that sucks.

Both of these bands are legendary.

  • Best acid band

  • I loved it when I first heard it at 16, and I still love it today, 26 years later.

  • OH MY GOD that riff is just epic

  • this song is genius!

  • JPJ is a legend, led zeppelin never give him some credit for his works

  • fuck the solo's good

  • I am playing this at over 110 decibls right now at my desk and loving it!!!!

  • led zeppelin was and and is the greatest thing to band hit the earth. everything about them is purely rock and roll. i love it. screw new crap rock. this is rock and roll.

  • I love this song!

  • I think this song is great instrumentally but the vocals just don't feel right to me honestly.

  • listen to the studio version the voice is much clearer

  • Oh my friggin god, Is this the shit or what. I want this played at my funeral. These 4 guys were and are gods. John Bonham "R.I.P" you are responsible for me picking up stiks at age 9 and I thank you with every drop of blood in my body.

  • too bad god isnt real

  • Am I suppose to get upset because you said that.. I don't care, you're the one that's gonna burn in hell not me, so whatever...

  • debatable :/

  • sorry i thought you were just saying that outta nowhere...i didnt see you were responding to that other comment.

  • page is GOD

  • agreed. i worship led zeppelin over anything else

  • what an idiot.

  • whats your proof of gods existance. its all a fucking scam. watch the zeitgeist movie and try to proove that shit wrong... its mind blowing

  • oooh that movie was great. but it's not good to watch late at night when you should be sleeping

  • simple, a human came up with it. it mean's it's wrong.

  • If heaven was in the form of a song, it would be this.

  • This song is so epic. This is probably one of my favorite songs by them.

  • Nobody cares about you age, this music is timeless.

  • you fuckin tell 'em BUDD8510

  • Im 57 years old saw this concert and many more.....todays music and the shows just cant stand up to shit like this!!!!!

    Enjoy it forever!!!!

  • I'm 15 and I completely agree with you.

  • im 14 and i cant agree more with budd robert plant is the best of the best and todays music just trys too be even half as good and it keeps failing

  • Led Zepplin rocks and so does this song so shut up Moodylovesbears becuase you dont know real music when you hear it

  • Um... I don't think he was insulting Led Zepplin.

  • hahaha no he definately wasn't. He was sayin that if you could write down the sounds JPJ gets out of the organ he'd make it his epitaph on his headstone...

  • Yeah JPJ could and will fuck anyones shit up that organ sound is... well if you could put it into words, you'd put it on your gravestone.

  • its a really great song to get drunk

  • this song makes me trip everytime

  • I checked, and the dude is right. But in blues based music a lot of riffs are recycled. It doesn't matter, it's what you do with it. Both Hendrix and Zep are legends.

  • perfect alchemy and magical interaction, nothing more...

  • Relax... turn out the lights and blast this one... lay there listening and you will see it's so deep ---

(no - I haven't smoked dope in 20 yrs lol)

  • another piece of art from led zeppelin

  • people are fucking dumb, you cant rip off riffs from songs, only lyrics dumbass. every band uses beats and such from other influential songs. just not lyrics.

  • another great song by zeppelin. i

  • I meant near *end of

  • The syncopation is unlike anything Hendrix ever did! I love the Band of Gypses LP! First RNR 8-track I ever bought! I traded in a Jackson 5 I got for Christmas! I have never looked back!

  • I think you need to listen to Machine Gun closer. the rip off part is near the end of the 11 minute song, after the face melting solo, so it takes some patience.

    watch?v=TV74PsUo1dc

listen to the guitar starting at 7.57 and you will see.

  • rofl!

  • badass.

    Page rips it.

    led zepp > you

  • lol

  • JPJ on keyboard

    but i don't get

    who was on bass?

  • no one- he played a synth bass

  • He plays a synth bass with his feet.

  • this is so good its hard to put it into words

  • iloverush123

escucha vudu, y vas a ver que bien que tocan

  • That riff is mean!!!

  • Awesome, awesome trippy song, but what the hell shows from 3.25 to 7.35 in this clip??

  • bizarre!!!

  • jimmi page is not overrated this solo is my favorite

  • rory gallagher is a savage guitarist and performer....not sayin hes as good or better than ny1 else because thats just idiotic. the reason he wasnt big was because he never seeked commercial success

  • Awesome...

  • i never used to like this song. but the more i listen to it the more awesome i realize it really is.

  • Love that timpani and gong. 3:56

  • This ROCKS. p...e...r...i...o...d

  • wat does that mean

  • id say song writing talent goes to page and playing goes to hendrix. page has written some of the greatest songs ever, so has hendrix, but not as famous as page.

  • Stop comparing who is better..

All are great in there own right.

    Just enjoy the music..

Listen to his improvisations in the solo here

Get inspired lets try to bring real music back...

  • so where is eric clapton on this little best guitarist conversation?

  • I'd list him about 18th or 20th or so. That's still good-just...the guy hasn't made a good song in 35 years.

  • they broke up in 1980 dumbass. go take your bull to the people-with-stupid-names-club. you couldn't carry my jockstrap, bitch.

  • What difference does it make WHEN they broke up? Gallagher hasn't done anything in at least as long...or what he HAS done is completely bland. Get off the pot, dickwad, and use your ears.

  • ha, you arrogance is second to your ignorance. you said, "I'd list him about 18th or 20th or so. That's still good-just...the guy hasn't made a good song in 35 years." now, use your eyes, do you see anything about Gallagher in there? he sucks, and so do you. i also smoke cannabis legally and for medical purposes only, so... fuck off, ass-hole.

  • Yes, medical purposes only. That's why your username is TheCannabisKing and your channel is full of weed.

  • well, off the record, i like it a lot. on the record, medical purposes only.

  • There you go!

  • no offense to clapton and all his fans. i love clapton and his style of music, but he never had an original thought in his head about music. at best, compared to page and hendrix in the form of Rock n Roll, i would call his style mediocre :p. but cream was one heck of a band.

  • Jimmy page is a clean second right behind Jimi Hendrix

it was even put in writing

    and slash sucks

  • i know slash is way over rated

  • ,,you people forgot "Roye Gallager" that is if you know who he is, Irish guitar player, awesome, even looks alot like Page.

  • rory gallagher just like hendrix but a lot better

  • A souless technocrat. Couldn't carry Hendrix's jockstrap.

  • rory gallagher was an alcoholic who couldnt get onstage unless he was hammered, also, He wasnt amazing during the era he was big, there were other bands at the time far better. The thing I really dont like about rory though, he ended up with the whole fender fanclub fanbase for some reason, everyone I know who owns a strat loves this guy, everyone who doesnt like fender that I know, thinks he's a kook.

  • slash is a good guitarist...but yea hes not even in page, hendrix, gilmour ects league...hes definately overrated but hes still good....

  • pan bless james patrick page
