It doesn't take a genius to realize the MANIPULATION going on here. The child does not understand ANYTHING. he is simply just repeating the last number of the question, which happens to be the answer rigged by the parents. Eg square root of 36 = 6. Square root of 25= 5. 4-2 is 2, 6-3 is 3, 8-4 is 4 etc etc.

I wonder how the baby "genius" is now a few years on?!!

I'd want to see more in terms of comprehension before I was convinced that this was useful. Memorization is all well and good but it isn't comprehension. In fact, it isn't even computation. Comprehension + computation = functionality. What is being demonstrated here could be done without the child even having the ability to count and what use would that be?

... It's a trick. Not only that, but 6-3 is basic math. And those square roots are also VERY basic. I dunno about anyone else, but I think it'd be pretty easy to teach those sorts of things. I'll agree if I see some multiplication/division. Hell, at least subtraction and addition here the answer isn't always half or double the number you subtract or add to.

I'm not saying he's stupid, I'm just saying he's no genius. Until he does that or explains to me WHY It's the square root o.o
