@kraiizer Well back during then you couldn't go into Molten Core as a fire mage, so frost was the only way. And frostbolt was the only really good damage frost spell.

@ilikegoldfish100 Also everything wasn't handed to you, you had to have had actual skill to even enter a raid, you had to conduct 40 people at once in a seemingly flawless execution of mechanics that are "trivial". OH OH! and the difficulty curve of bosses wasn't a straight line with a 180 degree angle. You think wrath is harder then vanilla? 40 man C'thun. Lich king can scratch his ass all day but if you need to patch a boss so people can actually beat him then the game is too hard. C'thun.

Unless you were pvping, then it was elementalist(frost/fire or fire/frost) depending on how you liked to play Arcane/fire was better but you had to have the ZHC(Zandalarian Hero Charm) and TEP(Talisman of Ephemeral Power), in which case you could 1-shot anyone, with a pyroblast. Then blizz got mad at us, and put the trinkets on a shared 15sec cooldown.

But mc/bwl pretty much fire immune. ZG/AN/AQ/Naxx good for fire

Yep. We had druids. But most druids were resto. But I knew druids who broke the mould. Excellent druid tanks, who'd beat warriors in raw threat. Balance druids who fought for their DPS spots, and well the majority were healers because innervate was a core talent of resto. So it was want to raid, go resto.

Healers were always massively in short supply. From the time I started raiding to the end of vanilla we went through over 180 healers because of stress and burnout.

Honestly... this is why I find pre-bc overrated. One-button spam dps with limited aoe raid damage and weak hitting bosses. Sorry but looks boring. I personally prefer BC... Wrath was just "spam your biggest heal" + hop in a damn vehicle/walk outta the fire. Too many gimmicks at times to be fun. I preferred TK/SSC type raids myself. Nice mix of tank and spank + more complicated rotations/multi-mob/+a bit of gimmick here and there.

@Jhaerik Frost mages really had the equivelant of TBC destro locks rotation (1 button) wise, atleast in MC because he was immune to fire. TBC was great compared to WoTLK but I would still prefer vanilla, they'll never be able to get the game back to how epic it was back then, you just can't re-build a community like that.
