  • Thanks, I will...I joined because of the challange.

  • Q.how much do u get paid monthly in bootcamp as an E1:)

  • @792aber - Just Google "2012 military pay chart"

  • how hard is it becoming a stg

  • @stevenbohorquez92 - It all depends on your system. If you're an operator (only in for 4 years), it's fuggin' cake! If you're a tech like me (with a 2-year extension), it would depend on the complexity and toughness of your system. Unfortunately, I can't talk about the systems specifically. Overall, it's not that hard becoming an STG.

  • Goodluck Shipmate! I am one day fresh out of boot camp, and can't wait to get on a real ship. What sucks for me is that my rate is so overmanned that I will be waiting a very long one, or more years until I see my first ship, so after A-school I may get the chance to crossrate.

  • @SwaggaLessD - Congrats on graduating boot camp!! See, it wasn't that hard lol!

So what was your rate? I think you told me before, but I forgot. Sorry :(

  • @AndySan My rate is FC (Fire Controlman). Which I also just found out I will be waiting a while to class up too, but I will know for sure on friday. At MEPS I had the choice's of AECF, IT, and HM. I am starting to wish I chose IT with everyone telling me about the long wait, but I know it will be worth it down the road.

  • @SwaggaLessD - Yeah, one of the big advantages of choosing IT over the other rates is that your schools are in Pensacola Florida.

I've heard that FC schools are really demanding and that you do most of them at Great Lakes, although there are some C-Schools that are out here in San Diego but it might depend on your platform or whatever. It's gonna be rough for sure, but hang in there!!

  • @AndySan Yo, i DEP'd in Sept 22 2011, as a Nuke (NF classified), i wanna ask a question about RTC, What things Should I bring, and what things Shouldn't I Bring that may/maynot be useful at RTC.

my ship date is May 8 2012, so an answer before that would be nice.

  • @jettrono - I wouldn't bring anything other than what your recruiter tells you to (ie ID, credit card, SS card, etc). Just wear some plain junk clothes with no logos or anything that could single you out.

  • @AndySan basicly, whats in the book they gave me? like 50$ SScard ID etc...

also with regards to PT, was there at any point formation PT? ( formation miles etc. )

and final question, how would you compare the chow to? high-school food, prison food, all you can eat salad, etc...

  • @jettrono - Yeah pretty much.

I'm not sure what you mean by point formation though.

The chow is usually hit or miss depending on what you get.

  • @AndySan ment at any point in RTC, is their formation PT, like formation runs and other things like that, where you must maintain formation while performing PT.

  • @jettrono - The closest we got to that in boot camp was the pride run at the end of it. We kinda-sorta did it during normal PT, but the runners often break formation.

  • have fun man

  • @cjowenby - Thanks man!! I'm making the best of it for sure!
