I can't believe it.... did you do the rope work? man that take nerves of steel and about a bazillion tons of enthusiasm.... impressive.... I'm completely shocked!
@kuha5ster : I just started whittling. Get yourself a good knife (not an expensive one, a good one, I use a Frosts Knife (the woodcarving one without a beveled edge) and a Sloyd). Learn to sharpen it properly, and start hacking away at bits of wood. Learn the grain structure, try different species and see what works for you.
hope you're a mechanical engineer... you have the brains for it, it seems, and would be a shame to not see someone take you into the fold of engineering
Those are amazing!! Hey, why don't you add a spring mechanism on version 2.0, so that you can just trigger them open? You could even put the trigger on your chest, maybe activate it with bike break wire!
GRANDE BUENA IDEA :d

Very nicely done sir. I bet it was maddening getting all the lashed bits precise and stable enough to keep the action as smooth as it is.

how are the "feathers" able to line up? I can only see one connection joining "feather" to "bone", from the picture.

I'm not sure if the wire would match the wood and string.
