@fauxgrace John King is a wildlife expert. He only smiled when they were behind him, taking care to be submissive — keeping his head down and not looking any of them, particularly the silverback, straight in the eye — when they were in front of him. The crew believes they stopped to interact with John because he was wearing a black t-shirt and sort of "resembled" them.
