  • brilliant

  • Damn it. You made me well-up! I can imagine the thrill. Fantastic.

  • Holy crap. At the end when the silverback really deliberately gives him a look before walking off, that looked so human.

  • Amazing. And what is the background music?

  • @byuaceman : 'Apertura' (Motorcycle Diaries) soundtrack

  • utterly amazing.........

  • I get chills every time i watch this. Amazing experience.

  • At which camp in Uganda was this video taken? How likely is contact to happen on a trek?

What a fabulous encounter for John! I am extremely jealous.

  • @arobama57 No idea which camp he is at but at the start of the video he said it happens a few times a year. So very rare! :)

  • um a silverback breathing down my neck and i'm smiling.....??

  • Talk about walking on egg shells.

  • This guy obviously doesn't know opening his mouth and bearing his teeth is a threat.

I was just waiting for him to get his head ripped off.

On the other hand - what a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!!

  • @fauxgrace he put his head down and avoided eye contact while the alpha male was passing. pipe down

  • @fauxgrace John King is a wildlife expert. He only smiled when they were behind him, taking care to be submissive — keeping his head down and not looking any of them, particularly the silverback, straight in the eye — when they were in front of him. The crew believes they stopped to interact with John because he was wearing a black t-shirt and sort of "resembled" them.

  • @LordHumungs82. Silverback refers to the male alpha of the clan. They are all the same species.

  • Could have ended badly. Idiot

  • remarkable. best footage ive seen in a long time.

  • Awesome Video. Thanks for posting this.
