empathy means understanding someone else's viewpoint in witness testimonies it would mean understanding their biases and watching for their own mistakes and your own too
"must never be used" LOL ROFL
empathy is never mentioned, but it is by definition used in warfare, to predict the enemy's actions, it is a tool for war AND justice
silly, that's why it's said that empathy must be used, it doesn't mean sympathy, it doesn't mean you agree, it means you understand....
@kaser226 Actually, he's korean. But I guess that wouldn't matter to someone who is so ignorant and racist. I love how you had to even include the stereotype "small dicked" because YOU ARE SO SURE he has a small dick and that he's chinese just based off what? Assumptions?
You got balls & brains kid! A wonderfully lethal combination! I'm getting ready to audition for the play of 12 Angry Men and I must honestly say, thank you for your candor and insight. I will use it for maximum effect!
"a trait so hated and derided by republicans," ... this alone tells me how close minded you seem to be .... something that is a direct opposite of the point you are trying (and failing) to make ...
@sorenkierkegaard2008 WHO bludgeoned HIM to death with unproven accusations?! Who? Was that conservatives, or democrats? Did he not deserve a fair shake? No?
Corrupting the Court's interpretation of the law which was already written to protect us all without regard for color or status, so as to ostensibly "protect" the oppressed minority du jour, is merely comrade Obama's brand of "get even-ism." I liked Henry Fonda's character, too; but thank God he was only a juror, and not a judge . . . or a Justice of the Supreme Court.
"Empathy" is one thing. Invoking empathy as a means of couching a verdict in "social justice" is something else, entirely. Your commentary is cute but it slides past the glaring reality of Sotomayor's (and now, this Princeton elitist, Kagan's) appointment to the High Court, which opens the door to misinterpretation of the Constitution all in the name of "looking out for the oppressed little guy." In liberals' brand of race politics, the "oppressed little guy" is always a non-white minority.
I've never heard a worse understanding of the judicial system. Also, if you are basing what you think jurors are tasked to do by watching this movie you are watching jurors commit grounds for a mistrial. Jurors do not retry the case, or perform experiments. It's illegal.
Also, I can take the facts presented in this screenplay and convict the boy. The facts point to his guilt. And I would have no problem finding him guilty.
Mr. Kim, I think you have done a good job of expressing yourself (even though I think the slang is not necessary), and you have brought up ideas that should be considered. You are well spoken and it is encouraging to see that individuals consider the cinema as more than just a way to kill time, or something to do on a date. All art should trigger a response, as this movie has triggered a response from you. Thank you for this posting.
I certainly agree with your assessment of the judicial system. Everyone goes into court believing a person is guilty because well why else would they be on trial? The prejudices are already manifests itself at the beginning no matter how much they say "innocent until proven guilty." Cases are developed around the "defendant" rather then the crime.
You're a dildon. Corruption is king in America and 12 Angry Men shows how morally compromised the justice system is.
Sotomayor is no angel. She refused to hear an innocent man's capital murder appeal because the brief was mailed and was 4 days late instead of hand delivered to the Court.
She's no liberal. She's just a run of the mill Ivy League overachiever that occasionally looks back at where she came from and will give token support to society's weak and downtrotten.
You have such a way with words. Are you sure the American Nazi Party screening committee understood you correctly when you said you want to be a loyal member?
I might be making myself a "dildon" by saying this, but empathy must NEVER be used as a "tool" in a trial. The purpose of a trial is to get to the truth, and if a person lets his "bleeding heart" be his "guide" in a trial, he's just as dangerous (and blind) as a prejudiced racist. The rule of law (and we MUST put law over personal feelings in ANY trial) says that a person can only be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and that is what No.8 does simply by testing the "evidence".

@kaser226 And you were obviously too oblivious to notice that this video was a REVIEW.
If i must elaborate anymore on how ignorant, racist, oblivious, and immature you are, please inform me.
Have a good day.
