my granpa died a couple months ago from a head injury and we were close, because im 16 now, but he helped take care of me up until i was like 12 or 13. I miss him and my other grandma :(

My grandparents live in the Philippines and I live in America. I can't see them that often and there's this language barrier between us. Before when I was younger I was taken to the Philippines once I was stable so there I unconsciously learned Tagalog. I ended up trying to forget the language because I was teased in pre-k. So now my English accent go better and theirs got worse. Now I barely understand what their saying and its hard to communicate with them.

I agree. I have one last surviving grandparent, and we now live 2400 miles apart (I'm in Seattle). I now regret not spending as much time with her as I could've, living back in Kentucky. I can't wait to see her this Thanksgiving, even though she does not celebrate it (she is a Jehovah's Witness). I will still visit her!
