Frankly, I'm glad the school is doing a better job of actually EDUCATING the players these days since the vast majority will never get paid to play the game as a professional. The old times were fun but I really don't miss the thug reputation the program had back then.

People saw mouthy, show-offs on the field (and they were) but didn't realize that these guys actually got their degrees at higher rates than most. That is a matter of public record. Randal Hill was a punk, and so was the majority of this Miami team. They shouldn't have won any championships under Erickson. Miami's 2001 team was so much better than the Hurricane teams in the late 80's and early 90's. Andre Johnson, Ed Reed, Clinton Portis, Jeremy Shockey, Mount McKinnie, D.J. Williams, and Johnathan Vilma are just some of the talented players that their 01 team had. The teams in the late 80's and early 90's didn't have that kind of talent. They won on luck.
