yea, sometimes bad things happen to good people. if your cousin made a choice to do such an act, it would be because of other issues, and not because of the movie. if nothing more the movie just gave her permission to do it.

The movie was about the after concerts. Where people would gather and commit suicide. It wasn't telling you. "Just kill yourself cause it looks fun or because they did it." The American subtitles were crap. But the movie was basically about the surrounding madness that makes society go round.The conclusion gives the children the right to speak.
The meaning is hard to understand, but it'd be easier if you know that Japan's suicide rates are higher than any other country.
Also, to anyone wondering why Japanese or you can say, Asian population suicidal... No, it isn't just because they think it is fun. One of the reasons are academics. In Asia, possibly Japan... It is almost required to be top in your classes. Some don't come to that standards, degraded by parents... commit suicide. 15 months later and this is still my favourite music video. the first time i saw it i felt a tidal wave of devastation pass through my whole body. it still raises my arm hairs now. no other music video has ever moved me like this one. the song just stirs something up from deep within especially when added to that film footage.

On the whole suicide in Japan, I think it's important to point out how different it has been seen culturally thru the ages, us Westeners have a long tradition of judeo-christian belief system where suicide is viewed as the ultimate taboo where as in Japan society it was often seen as the honorable thing to do when facing failure (be it work, school, war etc). Culturally, Japan has only been exposed to westernized morals on a large scale for 50 years.

like a suspence drama, not a horror film though. i think in a few parts of the film it has a way of messing with or misleading your thoughts, but nothing you can't figure out. it's an intresting movie.
when they are walking in the walkway and some kids are against the walls and some are walking and there is a dude with a freakin s & m mask on what are those things on the ground that are moving and that scene doesn't seem to fit in with the movie
awayz: Yeah suicide is more common in Japan. Part of the reason is social pressure. Also some Japanese more easily fall "in line" with each other than in the US. Life gets stressful anywhere, but Tokyo is packed.
People dont realize that all this drama in their little world around them, it has very little to do with actual reality of life. I'd rather just pack up and move, start over somewhere else then kill myself.

Their copies(books) of suicide procedures are LEGAL and have sold millions!!!! dude! that is crazy!! Economically, it is good because Japan is packed with people.

it's important i think for anyone considering such an act, to remember that there are moments in life that are worth being around for. they are few, and spread far between. they do however occur.

me too. i mean when you watch the movie it's kinda disturbing... but when i made the clip i wanted something beautiful to lift some of that off the ground. to me beauty is beyond the surface. i mean most would discribe this movie as suicidal tendencies, and confused youth ect.. a cult of sorts. for me i see the movie as a constant struggle between a human host and thier emotions tied to themselves. anyway i wanted this to be more sad, hope drivin.
the first song you hear is the entire song, Crossing Over. the second you hear is a peice that is right in the middle of the song called, Leave Me Here. both of those can be found on the albumn, Salvation.
After seeing this video clip I bought the DVD from ebay. This is very interesting and from the previews I've seen it's not too bad for a low budget film though the special effect might seem a bit too fake but none the less I can't wait to see the movie. Thanks for the clip.
though extreme, it was half of it's fun, and attraction. i guess the other half being how serious it really all is. maybe not mass suicides, but you never know. example: would be the more recent highschool shootings. i think in a way the media helped mass suggest this idea to all of us.. it's allowed to happen now. anyway.. i was trying to figure out what the hell was going on in the movie..and in the end it was all so simple.

this song is called "crossing over" by a band "cult of luna"
the very last scene, when the other students run up, and try and talk the girl at the end from jumping. i cut a peice out of a song by the same band, that song is "leave me here"

Wow... The song really fits. O_O; I haven't seen Suicide Club yet, but I really want to. >_<; The part where the train ran over the bodies... Just... wow...
And the part where they all jump in unison... It's kind of beautiful and sad at the same time. I don't know how to explain it. Nice video. :3

like a suspence drama, not a horror film though. i think in a few parts of the film it has a way of messing with or misleading your thoughts, but nothing you can't figure out. it's an intresting movie.

when they are walking in the walkway and some kids are against the walls and some are walking and there is a dude with a freakin s & m mask on what are those things on the ground that are moving and that scene doesn't seem to fit in with the movie

yeah, thats a weird scene in the movie. i think it's suppost to symbolise innocence. but those little things moving around are chics, baby chickens.
yeah and that guy, the s&m guy, he shaves the strip of skin off the girls. making up the bundel they leave hanging around as a sign.
weird stuff.

awayz: Yeah suicide is more common in Japan. Part of the reason is social pressure. Also some Japanese more easily fall "in line" with each other than in the US. Life gets stressful anywhere, but Tokyo is packed.
People dont realize that all this drama in their little world around them, it has very little to do with actual reality of life. I'd rather just pack up and move, start over somewhere else then kill myself.

i honestly believe that most of us who have viewed the movie know two things. one that it isn't real, and two that it isn't real.
we know that blood does not splatter like that, and horror movies... is this movie considered a horror movie.. i didn't know.
i thought this was someones thought on how controling pop culture actualy can be.
not scare us, but to expose us. but thats my take on it.

hahahaha(im laughing bcuz u didnt think be4 u ask). its not a normal thing but in Japan, suicide rate is really really high. Their copies(books) of suicide procedures are LEGAL and have sold millions!!!! dude! that is crazy!! I even saw one guy interviewing some jap people on TRAVEL channel last year asking about suicide related issue and it was shocking to find that it is true. Economically, it is good because Japan is packed with people.

But it is not funny at all if you think about it....imagine you sit besides a 10 story building and under the little comfy bench you are having spaghetti, then suddenly a body fell from the sky and landed in front of your face and guts spilling all over you....I mean thinking about it gives me the goosebum..if that happens in front of a minor, it could damage their mind...

yeah, thats the strangness, and the exciting bit of the movie.
that kids, who by most standards are undevoloped, and unwise, are the master minds behind the suicide club.
not that killing is thier motive, rather understanding one self.

this was way more serious than the film. i loved this so much. if i were to convince some one not to go suicide i would show them this. it shows how unglamerous it is and how horrable it really is. thank u for making this film edit

it's important i think for anyone considering such an act, to remember that there are moments in life that are worth being around for. they are few, and spread far between. they do however occur.
i'm not aganist suicide, but i am against people robbing themselves of the beauty life really does offer. like i said it's a rae occassion, but when you're around for it, it makes every day before worth living, and every day after a desire for.

Lostsalesman thanks for what you've done on this video. Haven't seen yet suicide club. Pretty hard to find here in France.
But something on the music you choose, something on the way those poeple choose to die, made me feel strange. You talk about pop culture impact. I always thought culture, in a way, got the purpose to make poeple share something. The only thing we will never share will be our death.
Anyway, you made me feel something unusual, thank you for this.

I agree with what you've said completly. I also believe that it is in fact culture that has always united people. It is how we relate, and compare.
When I comment on pop culture I am mainly just trying to share the thoughts behind the movie. On a personal level, I believe that life is a very fragile thing. It is pressious, and on many levels we are defined by our choices in life. It is those choices that are fragile.
Also it is seemingly sad that most of us will die all alone.

it is a really well put together movie creeped me out but thats what you get with no sleep for 24 hours and watchign something right before you pass out in sleep. lol ^,.,^ i've been trying to get my friends to watch it but i'll have to be sneeky and they will watch it. tteeheeheehee

yes, it took me awhile to get my friends to watch it as well. i still have friends that are completely unintrested. so i just leave them alone. i just feel bad for them. movies like this are not common.
i know that whole lack of sleep feeling. you really do get to expereince things in a new way.

as for trippy, and not so hig budgeted films. i love em. there stories sometimes hold the most volume, while big budgets just want names, and ratings. i agree, i love them too!

me too. i mean when you watch the movie it's kinda disturbing... but when i made the clip i wanted something beautiful to lift some of that off the ground. to me beauty is beyond the surface. i mean most would discribe this movie as suicidal tendencies, and confused youth ect.. a cult of sorts. for me i see the movie as a constant struggle between a human host and thier emotions tied to themselves. anyway i wanted this to be more sad, hope drivin.

yeah, the two songs are by a band, Cult of Luna.
the first song you hear is the entire song, Crossing Over. the second you hear is a peice that is right in the middle of the song called, Leave Me Here. both of those can be found on the albumn, Salvation.

After seeing this video clip I bought the DVD from ebay. This is very interesting and from the previews I've seen it's not too bad for a low budget film though the special effect might seem a bit too fake but none the less I can't wait to see the movie. Thanks for the clip.

it is a bit out there!
though extreme, it was half of it's fun, and attraction. i guess the other half being how serious it really all is. maybe not mass suicides, but you never know. example: would be the more recent highschool shootings. i think in a way the media helped mass suggest this idea to all of us.. it's allowed to happen now. anyway.. i was trying to figure out what the hell was going on in the movie..and in the end it was all so simple.

it is fascinating,and more than anything.. the movie holds substance. it's not so much wether or not people get us for liking the movie, but more do they get the movie... if they got the movie than i think they would have a better understanding of maybe who the fans are. no matter either way. you know the hardest part i have is getting people to watch it, because it's subtitled, or because it's a foriegn film. oh well..

no, i agree with you. the film, and the music, makes for a completely different thought. lol when i watched the movie the first time around. it freaked me out. i had to think about it, and after i don't know about a day or so, i found it's meaning. i had to make something for it. play around with it, because the moive is beautiful.. well in the shadows of the movie it's beautiful.
