And this all stems from one extremely unrealistic expectation:

Because sometimes you need to forget the past. It's absurb that Israel has this land in the first place, but removing all Israeli's from the land they now occupy is just as absurb. It's never going to happen, and it's unrealistic. In fact, making demands like that is going to have the opposite effect. If peace is to reign, compromises need to be made.
I felt bad for Hamas until I saw the one guy trying to dig people out from the rubble of an Israeli air strike, and then the camera panned and I saw about 10 other people just standing around with cameras, filming. They exploit their own suffering to gain a political edge and garner sympathy. It was only then I realized how effective the Hamas propaganda machine was.
Those who say "There was no Palestine" are wrongly justifying murder. The nation-state is a relatively new phenomenon. Don't use this argument to justify killing and oppression. Would you tell Native Americans that they were not pushed out simply because there was no such thing as a unified "Native America" or because the Sioux nation did not have defined borders. Haha, "prides itself on objectivity," like Fox. To be fair, Aljazeera is covering mostly, if not all on Gaza. It just so happens I agree with Aljazeera, and doing some reporting inside Gaza which to my knowledge, won't get much of anywhere else.

And this all stems from one extremely unrealistic expectation:
They want their land back, in full.
And that is never going to happen.
Why?
Because sometimes you need to forget the past. It's absurb that Israel has this land in the first place, but removing all Israeli's from the land they now occupy is just as absurb. It's never going to happen, and it's unrealistic. In fact, making demands like that is going to have the opposite effect. If peace is to reign, compromises need to be made.

I felt bad for Hamas until I saw the one guy trying to dig people out from the rubble of an Israeli air strike, and then the camera panned and I saw about 10 other people just standing around with cameras, filming. They exploit their own suffering to gain a political edge and garner sympathy. It was only then I realized how effective the Hamas propaganda machine was.

Those who say "There was no Palestine" are wrongly justifying murder. The nation-state is a relatively new phenomenon. Don't use this argument to justify killing and oppression. Would you tell Native Americans that they were not pushed out simply because there was no such thing as a unified "Native America" or because the Sioux nation did not have defined borders. Of course not. There have been Palestinians living on this land for many many generations. They were forcibly pushed out and killed.

But the issues should be about NOW. There is NOW an Israel, there's no way they can all be forced to leave, (but I don't think any groups REALLY thinks that, they just use that to get popular support).
They both need to recoginze each other's right to exist, Israel need to appologise for the way it's treated the Palestians & stop settling & leave the West Bank & stop embargo on Gaza, AND Hamas & friends needs to stop firing rockets.
It's quite simple solution, but hard to execute

Lets get something straight: the British already fixed this problem as best they could, with the two state solution. But the Arabs weren't happy with a compromise and that same inability to compromise is what is happening right now. They want to turn back the clock, totally unrealistic
I mean you have Hamas spokespersons in the streets saying "the plan is going well" when an IDF air strike hits a school.
Is this the kind of leaders you want to run your country? Is this the kind of plan you want?

Of course arab countries were not happy with that 'compromise' they were not even asked about. The UK unilaterally made that decision about land it had no right making decisions over, and there wasn't even a 'problem' for then to fix until Israel declared independance.
If everyone back then had agreed to work together to build a new country together that would have been the best, but the Jews and the Arabs in the Palestine Mandate BOTH couldn't agree, and it's been the same since

Well look this really was the best option. If it had been a one state plan it would have been a bloodbath. The brits realized that the best thing would be to keep them apart, being they had realized that keeping them together is what caused all the violence in the first place. But by then the conflict was so escalated that the arabs didn't want to compromise. The two state system wasnt good enough, what they wanted was one state, filled with arabs and no jews. Which was unrealistic at that point

Well... Truman gave the order to drop the bomb, and while it did kill tens of thousands and poison millions, it pails in comparison to Hitler's killing of tens of millions gays, gypsies, jews, disabled people, communists, etc.

sorry my mistake, it was Truman yes but i have to disagree with the number of people killed. The initial impact of the atomic bomb already cost almost 100 thousand Japanese. But that's not the worst result of the bomb. The worst result is the radiation aftermath which caused another 100 of thousands of deaths and the illnesses attributed to the bomb which continues generations to generations.

It dosn't mater if X had existed sometime in the past. 'Palestinians' (or whoever you want to call the people who lived in 'Israel' before the imagined community of Israel was consturcted by the Jews a short time ago) have the right to self rule on the land they've lived on whether or not a map showed a certain coloured square with certain words in it or not.
