  • instead of boiling it a day or two b4, just soak it in the water a day b4 and keep it in the frig.

  • @generalfuckpants

Uncle Ben's rice is instant rice dumb shit.

  • who does that!?

  • Brown Rice is nothing but regular rice, however it is not "hulled" therefore it has some of the husk which has not been milled off the kernel. That's why it takes a little longer to cook. Now. . . having said that, it doesn't take 45 minutes to cook, even in plain form. Just soak it. Place whatever amount you require for the dish or serving to soak in the morning before you need to cook that evening. Not only will the grains "blossom" a little, but the cooking time is reduced. Simple, neh?

  • WHO THE FUCK TAKES 45 MINUTES TO COOK BROWN RICE? Just get a box of Uncle Ben's Brown Rice and it's ready in 10-15 minutes if you know how to actually cook properly.

  • @generalfuckpants lol Uncle bens. I get a huge bag of rice and put that shit in a rice steamer. EAT MY SHIIIIIIT

  • @FloydIV lol seriously...

  • I like the regular rice more than this brown rice, . .

  • Why did you do that to the rice...? It could've gone to children in Africa?

  • Sir please respect the food you eat.

  • What a 'tard. You are supposed to soak it first.

  • f.cking rich people!

  • Have fun playing your version of 52 card pick-up.

  • what the fuck 45 minutes it takes about 20 minutes to boil

  • @ldwhite69 You might have to soak it first

  • is it to difficult to ask for proper measuments???

  • Thanks alot!

  • what brand of parboiled brown rice did you use?

  • I prefer the short grain brown rice. You could do this recipe, but what the hey, He is only saving you about 15 min cooking time I go with the Organic short brown rice. More texture. Add eggs. green onion and your favorite meat with soy sauce. Yummy

  • Just Be Very, Very CareFull. Research that what you are buying is Not GEN. MANIPULATED POISEN!! Wake up!!! Say No To Gen. Manipulated Poisen....Research this!!!!?

  • thank you for sharing this I would like to do that :)

  • Please sir, I am hungry. Can I have the rice you threw on the floor?

  • @p0gue

I know right! Food wasted! =(

  • u didnt even say what type of rice is best u just said the names lolz

  • @blakasassin1 lol he was using long grain, it 's the only one that comes out like long grain white rice.

  • This man is awesome!!!

  • water to rice ratio should be 2:1 in a rice cooker, beef stock is good with brown rice..

  • PICK UP THOSE PIECES OF RICE. DAMN YOU! PEOPLE HAD A HARD TIME PLANTING IT!

  • it has the ability is it can cure cancer

  • Do not like his rice flicking.

  • @scryerofold Don't be a fickle phony.

  • Good..but why would you throw it?? :( its food afterall

  • I'm sure people from some cultures find flinging rice rude. My Uzbek room mate used to get so mad at me when my friends and I threw eggs and tomatoes at each other

  • thanks i will try this

  • Is brown rice always crunchy? Everytome I make it , always turn out that way. And I cook for a long time..

  • @kekedj214

try to soak your brown rice half an hour before you cook it. Also, once it is done cooking, cover it for a minutes or two, the steam from the rice should then moist the rice, making it soft and nice.

  • @kekedj214 You must be cooking it wrong lol cooked rice is not suppose to be crunchy.

  • lol He flings the rice at the camera XD

  • I must have a different kind of rice or something. It's short - medium grain raw brown rice i usually use. but it hasn't ever taken 45min, more like 25.

I am at a high elevation though, perhaps that makes a difference.

  • jasmine rice is damn good, but i also love brown rice..

  • i agree. i had never had it till i tried it.

  • good video, enjoyed watching it, will watch future videos.

  • LOL! I can't believe you just flung (flinged?) all that rice on the floor!! All I could think was, what about the people who now have to clean up all that rice?!?!

Anyway, I use a rice cooker. I don't know exactly how long it takes, but it turns out fine every time...which is what I like.

  • @LBrobie what about all the starving people in Africa, don't forget them, too!

  • Burger, fries, and a soda are much better.

  • @mikeym5 also it have so many calories that it is going to kill you eventually

  • my mom soaks b. rice in water for a few hours before cooking, really does wonders for the texture. alas, I don't have enough foresight to do this.

  • I use a Chinese clay pot to cook brown rice in thirty minutes or less. The Chinese clay pot has a lid with a small hole for the steam to escape. Therefore, I don't have to watch the pot constantly.

I have a rice cooker which I stopped using because the Chinese clay pot is so much more easy to use, and it only cost me $10 at a Chinese supply store.

  • I have a faster way to cook. IN a microwave with sensor featire that comes with a program for "Rice", cook brown rice 2 cycles versus one cycle for white rice.

  • 45 min.? I'm usually a hour long cooker.--Brown Rice revolution!

  • Great tip!

    poor starving children in africa

  • well said

  • Invest in a rice cooker and you can have brown rice in less than half an hour.

  • I do the same, but soak my brown or red rice for about half hour and it will yield the same results.

  • The best tip I learned is to presoak it for an hour or two. After you drain and boil its done in 30 minutes or less.

  • You are not reducing time by parboiling. What you are doing is simply breaking the process of cooking in two stages which is probably more cumbersome than cooking in one go and get over it. Other problem with the parboiling method is that you are draining out the water full of all the vitamins and minerals after boiling and lose freshness. The most easiest, smart and practical method to reduce cooking time for brown rice is just to use pressure cooker and you are done in less than half and hour.

  • i have never tried brown rice before, does it taste good``??

  • this is the second video in a row in which someone refers to a Grain of rice as a "Kernel" strange, but still informative...thanks!

  • mark bittman....i love you!...will you marry me?....wahahahha....
