You are not reducing time by parboiling. What you are doing is simply breaking the process of cooking in two stages which is probably more cumbersome than cooking in one go and get over it. Other problem with the parboiling method is that you are draining out the water full of all the vitamins and minerals after boiling and lose freshness. The most easiest, smart and practical method to reduce cooking time for brown rice is just to use pressure cooker and you are done in less than half and hour.
instead of boiling it a day or two b4, just soak it in the water a day b4 and keep it in the frig.
