I was walking home to school and this came on for the first time.It was mildly snowy and it was the first time i had heard the song.It was a very beautiful moment.
I dont think ill ever forget the first time i heard this song
Hey, what's up everybody... I'm here because all of you guys are Pearl Jam fans, and because, if you can deal with a little bit of 'spam', I'm here to promote my new band Overshadowed. We just got done recording our demo, it's on our channel, and we'd love if anyone could simply check the songs, leave a comment, or anything of the sort. We'd really appreciate it!
FYI, I came HERE because we love and respect Pearl Jam, and are hoping for whatever respect you guys might have leftover...
This is great. I would really like to hear Matt Cardle sing a cover of Pearl Jam's Deep. I think he would own that track.
And then star in a movie about a man who turns into a raven that makes rare medicines which cure all the diseases of the world, and yet struggles with english puddings and gets quite angry when it can't make a trifle. Yeah, I think that would crease people up. Just imagine it in 3D!! All those moody hundreds & thousands flying out of the screen. WOW!
Every day at night before going to sleep I start hearing this song in my head and it keeps playing through the whole night in my sleep, I even wake up repeating the lyrics, I think it might be a weird disease but I don't care 'cause the song is awesome.
I think the point of the first two verses when constrast with the third is that heroin addiction (and suicide as a result of clinical depression ) is similar to rape, in that you're ravaged by something you can't control
I remember being young, dum, full of cum, when dance music was my flavour and bad was my attitude, and i heard my dad playing this album on the family stereo. The pin dropped, the shivers ran through my spine and brain went into meltdown. "Dad, am i supposed to get all these emotions and feelings from some dude singing and guitars wailing?? Sit down son, and let Pearl jam teach you". Thankyou so so much to Eddie and the boys for opening my heart and ears!! You guys ROCK!!!
Hopefully we get another Ten. Wishful thinking considering the classic PJ era ended a long time ago, now we get stuff like "Johnny Guitar" meh, but we can dream
its a shame tht people my age dont listen to real music like this....they'de much rather listen to the stupidity of rappers nd auto tune alking bout "you broke a** motha f...." i dnt understand the only emotion i get wen i listen to tht crap is nausea nd disgust....this this is real music tht cause real emotion....tht u feel the emotions of the band themself....desperatin...sadness....raw power....
The whole song is amazing, but that third verse about the rape...The visual Eddie paints for you is so graphic and disturbing...it's so great yet hard to listen too..."She doesn't like the view but he sinks himself deep". Good God! Eddie Vedder is the best ever.
I think this song has a great message about shit getting out of control and people being in too deep. The first verse is about a drug addict, the 2nd verse is about a murderer, and the third verse is about a rapist.
im sure it will. one day ppl are gonna get so fed up with todays shitty music, that a new rebellious genre will arise and issue in a whole new generation of music.
In to deep!- Love it . Thanx - i left my copy of TEN in the car - Needed to hear this - now - cant be bothered to go out to get it - ' She doesnt like the view' .Seeking freedom.. appledecca.
This song is so powerful. It's disturbing, you can sense the desperation, the misfortunes that fall upon people at any time.... rarely does music evoke that kind of emotion in me. Eddie's voice and the crazy guitar riffs go hand in hand in this one.
they called the album TEN because it was the number of then NBA star "Mookie Blaylock" He was apparently a fav of theirs and Pearl Jam's first ever show was at the OffRamp cafe in Seattle Washington...they played the show under the name "Mookie Blaylock" and then changed the name to Pearl Jam shortly thereafter. You'll still see some hardcore PJ fans at shows with Blaylock jerseys on. I know, I've been to about 15+ concerts

Second verse: Guy kills several other guys just cause
Third verse: Guy rapes girl. The girl just so happens to be a virgin
