  • LOL your reaction is funny! I would have prolly done the same thing

  • Hahaha...I love the look on your face just before you say: "We just had an earthquake." Cool. Guess you're not too used to them?

How big was that? Biggest one I've been in was 7.2....

  • @M424Filmcast 7.2? dang..thats a huge one....

this one was last Sept, and i think it was around 5.0.......but what made it so impactful was that i was just 6 miles from the epicenter...thankfully it was just a few seconds..

  • @TheOusooner56 Yeah, it didn't look too bad on your vid. Out where I am, we wouldn't even stop what we're doing.

  • Awesome

  • HaY I think u just had an earthquake LOL

  • The earthquake started at 12:00

  • @martyca6 no it didnt....it happened that morning...i know...i was about 6 miles from the epicenter..plus ask any of the local media and OU

  • @TheOusooner56 No I was talking about the video it shook a little the started to shake a little more.

  • @martyca6 oh okay...the first few seconds was the biggest shake....

  • @theousoon56 You know you can't run from an earthquake. lol

  • LMAO HIS FACE IS PRICLESS!!! XD

  • great video and it's amazing that your video was being filmed while this happened!!!!!!! LOL! BOOMER!!! SOONER!!!

  • @hambone694 funny how things happen in life.....its still hard to believe

  • I WAS ONLY 4 MI W AND A MI STH OF THAT QUAKE EPICENTER,,TRYING TO GO BACK TO SLEEP AFTER A TRAIN WENT BY AND HEARD IT SHAKE THE TRAIN IN THE DISTANCE THEN MY KING SIZE WOODEN BED STARTED JUMPING FOR SEVERAL SECONDS UNTIL THE BOOM HAPPENED THEN I WENT OUTIDE TO LOOK FOR A NUKE.

  • @tomladd1 me and you both werent far from that epicenter....still hard to believe it happened

  • @tomladd1 Did the train have an accident when the occurd in the earthquake?

  • Ha ha ha wtf

  • hey I felt that quake that day, felt like a wash machine in it's spin cycle. it was something for sure.it was the first time I felt a quake too and I was a month shy of my 40th birthday. greetings from ponca city, ok.

  • @saintpaddydaybride greetings from norman...i think just about everyone in northern okla. felt it....

    still cant believe it happen

  • hey I felt that quake that day, felt like a wash machine in it's spin cycle. it was something for sure.

  • @saintpaddydaybride no doubt...an unscheduled spin cycle

  • "We just had an earthquake!" No, it was your mom getting out of bed.

  • @kamdan2011 wow, i wish i was as smart as you! go get a life, PLEASE!

  • @kamdan2011 your momma so fat, she jumped in the air and got stuck! LOL

  • @stopbeingnasty Your momma's so fat when she fell over, she rocked herself to sleep tryin to get back up again.

  • woah!!!

  • I was in my bedroom and I live in Lawton OKlahoma, and i was walking out of the bedroom door and I had my hand on the knob and I felt the vibrations in my feet and then the walls and the doorknob and I ran towards the kitchen and it had knocked my cup off the counter wich was on the very edge (idiot, but then again how was I supposed to know there was gonna be an earthquake in OKLAHOMA for cring out loud) and it hit my dog in the head and glass shattered everywhere.. I was likeOMG earthquake!:O

  • I was laying in bed when suddenly I thought my house had been hit by a car or something but at the same time the backs of my fingers were touching the wall and I felt the vibrations. At first, I didn't think it was real and then a friend of mine called and said that, sure enough, we had an earthquake. Greetings from Shawnee, Oklahoma.

  • His expression when he says, 'We just had an earthquake,' mirrors the one I had when I felt that quake, LOL! I was at work and my computer started wobbling and the chair I was in rolled. I was like, 'Was that...? No way!' and then people started calling and saying, 'Hey, we just had an earthquake!' Pretty cool event; just glad it wasn't major...

  • Did you feel that quake we had last Wednesday? Nov. 24? I didn't but my parents told me it was around Lawton.

  • @grantly0711 nope...did not feel that one..what did it measure?

  • I was in Florida when this earthquake happened. It was all over Facebook and everything.

  • @soonerstd that is amazing....we may not get one of those type of earthquakes for the next 20 or 30 years...i just happen to be about 6 miles from the epicenter of it all.....

  • @TheOusooner56 I would miss the earthquake too. I'm gone for 1 week out of the whole year and that's when it happened lol.

  • I was in Florida at the time of this earthquake. Ironic, huh...

  • I live in the OU traditions east apartment complex (six miles from the earthquake) and at the time it happened I was sleeping in my apartment and it felt like when someone shakes you awake. For a moment I thought I was back at home again. The most unsettling part was not knowing what was going on. OU sent out their text messages at 10 a.m., about 45 minutes to an hour after it happened.

  • @snuffles689 its been about 3 weeks, and customers at my job still approach me about it.....the power of tv and the internet are real!

  • Sorry about that...that was me

  • Wow.. what is it like to be famous on the news for this video?

  • Dat iz scary!!D:

  • I live in Seminole and I felt it...it's was prolly the scariest moment of my life...lol but this video cracks me up everytime I see it...lol so hilarious...lol

  • I saw this on News On 6. I felt it here in Tulsa but it wasnt that bad

  • @MrsJesseKa i have a cousin who lives in Tulsa who felt it as well....

  • My brother felt it in Tulsa.

  • Come one dude--it took you like 8 seconds to realize that was an earthquake? You need to duck and cover before somethin' falls on you lol.

  • I also live 6 miles from the center and didn't have a clue that it was an earthquake....explosion, plane crash, or bomb was was I thought. You did well to know what happened.

  • @oklahomaisok Agreed! I was thinking another bombing, and I instantly thought, "Not again..."

  • Thanks for uploading the vid! I felt the earthquake in Dallas.

  • @grape512 you bet....yeah, from what ive heard, those from not so close distances felt it.....of course i live in east Norman, only about 6 miles from it...hard to believe.

  • @grape512

  • @grape512 I call bullshit on that. It wasnt strong enough to be felt in Dallas

  • @xxjnastyxx his comment was a joke dumbass

  • @Mr420woo Doesn't sound like a joke to me nigger. I guess your kind still hasn't gotten proper education reform even after all these years....sad there are still idiots such as yourself who cant understand the words "I felt the earthquake here from dallas". There is nothing indicating that he is joking and even if he is how the fuck are you suppose to tell on the internet?? It is all on the way you read it but you're a dumbass so you dont understand that clearly.

  • @xxjnastyxx Definitely felt the quake in Dallas, while I was in my bed, which is on wheels. Felt it for several seconds. I got right on the net and told people about it just a few minutes later. Later I read the reports about it. I grew up less than a mile from the San Andreas fault line in California, so I have a good idea of what an earthquake is like. Thanks.

  • Saw you on Inside Edition just a few minutes ago. I saw this on Tulsa's KOTV, but couldn't find the video.

  • @RobCorvette yeah..inside edition called me this morning..asking for permission to air it...i had to work and forgot to record it, but they are sending me a copy of it in 2 weeks..

  • thank you to all for your comments...it was an unreal experience that myself & a lot of you in the Moore-Norman, and other areas not far away felt

  • no it wasn't fake!!! i was in the middle of guitar class when that shit happened!! it was so cool!!! we were all in the auditorium at my highschool (U.S. Grant) and the lights, and roof shook, even the ground vibrated! it was so cool it was my first Earthquake experience XD

  • Anyone who said this video is fake is stupid.

  • Wow crazy!!!!!

  • DrJohnBecker first off your a dumbass, so get off bitchass fatass and shut the hell up

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, this vid is getting attention all over Oklahoma.

  • i saw u in the news in fox 25 and i freakin felt it!

  • Grats on the national airing! Wonder if it's been shown in other countries?

  • @comet1227 It has been. I am in Germany and a friend of mine in Romania also sent a message saying she saw him. Very awesome!

  • Just saw you on Inside Edition dude!! :) Boomer Sooner!!

  • @SoonerMegan85 Boomer Sooner..beat Iowa State!

  • woo hoo you made it to inside edition!!

  • Yeah, I have lived here all my life and never felt one before. I felt it all the way in Midwest City by the AF Base, Crazy stuff

  • Breaking News!!! It's been confirmed that this mornings earthquake in Oklahoma was caused by Texas longhorns "hitting rock bottom"

  • @ganymedeIV4 wow...what will happen if they lose at Lincoln on Saturday? I might need to orbit immediately!

  • @ganymedeIV4 - I probably shouldn't have laughed at this, but I did. Hard. Thanks!

    BOOMER SOONER!

  • tosh.0 please!!! :D

  • I think the people that don't get it, how real and unsettling what you posted up actually must have been, have spent way to much money watching too many disaster movies.

Phenomenal chance you were there recording when that happened.

  • @wwwHangItUpcom that is so true...merely luck it happened...if i had started my blog about 20 minutes earlier, then that moment doesnt get caught.....timing was everything

  • for a second i thought i accidentally took some bad drugs or sumtin , then i checked ogs and saw it was an earthquake

  • Iv lived in Norman almost my whole life and not once hav I felt a quake tht big!

  • @TheGorillaz4ever it was an attention getter!

  • @TheOusooner56 Just dont pay any of attention 2 em then they will hopefully leave u alone just know tht there were ppl who felt it such as me and thtz all tht matters!

  • I lived in Norman for four years, we had quakes all last year. It was insane!

  • i saw you on the news here on tulsa

  • @camiller2005 cool....yep..my brother said it was on foxnews as well...wow!

  • this is my favorite earthquake video! i was sleeping and missed it in Bixby. scary stuff!

  • You'd figure that sence Oklahoma is in the center of the country that we wouldn't have quakes here!! We have been seeing them more and more lately. I live in Yukon and I felt it. It shook my windows and walls. Nothing standing up moved like the fridge and table. Hope we don't see anymore anytime soon!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome video! I live in California and was just thinking about a week ago about how it seems like with the amount of people filming blog videos for YouTube, it's just a matter of time before someone gets caught off guard by a quake while they are filming. Congrats dude! Side note, I have the same kitchen table chairs as you. :)

  • For those of you on campus - did you see the crack on the outside of Dale Hall Tower that the earthquake caused? :O

  • @catndogkid I did. I remembering campus police pulling up to the south oval with caution tape, taping off that part of Dale Hall.

  • Just ignore the internet meme's. We felt it, and the USGS website shows all the responses. I'm just thrilled you caught it on video :)

  • @comet1227 me too...

i just feel like i have to say something to the minority of people who are questioning it. It makes me mad! What do they want, the roof to cave in while i do the show?

  • @TheOusooner56 I completely understand! They probably went around to all the blizzard footage from Christmas and said that wasn't real either.

  • In Tulsa people have said it lasting anywhere from 4 seconds to 45 seconds. I felt it and it only lasted 5 seconds. If you look at the wall clock right after it happens the pendulum swings out and then back and forth. It's not fake. He's been on every channel here. Seriously... why would he have it being aired everywhere if its a sham.

  • So who did they play?

  • @JasonDziukACE he he....Kansas....never got that part out

  • Tht earthquake waz FUN!

  • @TheGorillaz4ever sorry..i was trying to respond to the viewer who ripped my video and called it fake...my apologies...

  • @TheOusooner56 It wasnt fake I FELT tht quake. Y r u sorry?

  • Almost all the witness reports say the quake lasted from between a half minute to a minute, yet it's only a few seconds on the video.

That and the camera was already shaking before the "quake",

and the audio had obviously been tampered with.

  • @lochnessmustang first..you are one SAD person....second, the camera was on a stack of CD's and CD cases, so the camera isnt on a sturdy surface, so of course it will shake a little....third, the quake did last about 15 seconds..thats factual...and I LIVE IN NORMAN! THE EAST SIDE>..just a few miles from the quake.. The brief period of silence is cuz i said something inappropriate, so that audio had to be silenced. My natural instincts came out.

I shouldnt have to defend myself for this.

  • Im in Sandsprings & I felt it.. I was layin on tha couch. MayB bout 15 seconds.. It was weird & my two cats were freaked out! lol

  • I really don't think the video was fake. The guy didn't do it to get famous or viral he was just as shocked as we were at the time. The sounds like that are hard to imitate. Plus the laptop's/computer's mic cuts in and out just like a regular one does. Addition, my girlfriend as well as most people commenting here were there and say it sounded exactly like that. I was in Edmond with headphones on...so I have less to say.

  • @thisguyhere44 thank you....im glad people like yourself, like me, know the truth....

  • @thisguyhere44 Yeah. AND the camerea was pretty shaky even BEFORE he felt it and started to wonder wat it was..

  • @thisguyhere44 its not fake!

i felt it i was at school!

  • I was on the third floor of Evans Hall at the Norman campus of OU at my desk. I say it lasted 5-7 seconds...really weird. I wish I would've look outside at the trees. The whole room shook and we all left the building, calmer than I would've thought.

  • I was in 3rd floor of Evans hall at my desk-the whole room shook (I say 5-7 seconds)

  • This is awesome footage.

  • @drjohnbecker k I can see where your coming from I've edited a quake effect like that but he's using windows movie maker by the looks of it and u can't make that effect in wmm so yeah it's possible but I doubt it's fake.

  • Dont have a longer clip? Its cool you got the quack on tape but what happened after you got up? How freaked out were you?

  • @rcnitroracer i went outside to see what the neighbors reaction was...i did continue my blog...about 30 minutes later...he he

  • @rcnitroracer I lived in Norman for four years, we had quakes all last year. It was insane!

  • @doctorjohnbecker haha your mentally unstable. Look it up. Oklahoma quake 2010 4.5 richtor

  • Fake. Interesting that the plant in the background held perfectly still as did the boxes on top of the fridge. And how the audio cuts out after the "quake." Nice way to get on the news though, it worked!

  • @DrJohnBecker its not fake dumbass. google it. i live in tulsa and we felt it

  • @crookededge7 I live in Tulsa too dumbass. I didn't say the quake was fake, I said the video was.

  • @DrJohnBecker The earthquake was real -- centered just NE of Norman, OK. OGS measured 5.1 but USGS measured 4.3. Elsewhere it was reported at 4.1.

  • @HuskerGram I know, I live in Tulsa. I was saying the video is fake.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @DrJohnBecker Sorry I misunderstood, DrJohn. It was the quotes around the word quake that made me think you were talking about that.

  • @HuskerGram hey no prob.

  • @DrJohnBecker

I'm skeptical as well. In fact, I made the same observations.

Watch at 00:30 seconds of this video: watch?v=TfDzc0I3F6U&NR=1& and pay close attention to the plant.

Now, rewatch the plant in this video. Nothing in the foreground of this video moves.

  • @DrJohnBecker i cut the audio cuz i said something not meant for broadcast TV....and i live on the east side of Norman, just a few miles from the quake..

Besides, the quake shook part of the house, not the entire house....goodness gracious....you are pathetic!

  • @DrJohnBecker He said a curse word and that's why the audio cuts out. You'd think this would be common sense?

  • @gigglingstephie Care to address my other points?

  • So glad you caught that! Only 15 seconds, I can't imagine being in a one big enough to cause a catastrophe! That was LOUD!

  • My student in my classroom felt the earthquake that happened near Guy, Arkansas while on the playground yesterday. We are near Fort Smith and felt both.

  • A 5.1 earthquake is nothing in CA, but huge OK. Kinda like if an F1 Tornado hit CA, it's big news but ho hum in OK.

  • Why did nothing in the foreground react to the violent movement? Particularly, neither the cereal boxes, plant, chairs, cabinet doors, papers on refrigerator, etc are seemingly static and motionless which is not to be expected with a 4.5-5.1 earthquake.

Forgive me for being a tad bit skeptical.

  • @willpoire I shall roll my eyes at you for being a "tad bit skeptical" as you are questioning his character and making claims/questions that he should have things moving on the walls and the cereal boxes, paper, and cabinet doors should be swinging and moving about. This isn't a Hollywood film! It wasn't a super huge earthquake. What he experienced is what everyone else who lives in that area and felt it, experienced.

  • We just had an earthquake.

  • srry bout the double post but ive heard it was felt in kansas city the other side of dallas and all the way to littlerock. im in choctaw btw

  • saying its 5.1 now

  • this is awesome

  • that scaredme to

  • That's so crazy!

  • I felt it too in OKC. They now say 5.1 magnitude.

  • I am sure that this gentleman experienced the earthquake..but I think this is a recreation...nothing else moves in this video except the camera...the items on top of the refrigerator don't move...the plant doesn't move...the stuff on the wall doesn't move..the mug behind him doesn't move...am I the only one that notices this?

  • @jpatrick405: Yes, they do, only they are moving back and forth from the camera's angle, not side to side. Just barely. I didn't notice anything moving IN my apartment, either, when it happened. The whole apartment and the storm door shook, but the stuff in my place just vibrated.

  • I live in Tulsa. When it happened, I thought a tree had fallen on the roof.

  • @Jennirn2u: That was my exact thought when the OKC bombing happened.

  • @jpatrick405 Of course the camera is going to move as it is in an unstable location. His video isn't a fake. I think it's rather cool he caught the earthquake while he was recording his sports show. Quit being a dumbass. This is not a conspiracy nor someone looking for 15 minutes of fame. He just happened to catch something extraordinary!

  • wow lucky you! probably the only one who got it on video. it woke me up so i only felt it but i didnt have my glasses on so i couldnt see my room shaking. >_<

  • i juss saw you on the news!

  • Shook me out of bed. Thought something hit my house. Huge ripple through everything, then slowly wanned.

  • Just saw you on the Fox4 News Station in Dallas. Priceless video .... can't wait for the sound mixers to use your voice to create a song. GO SOONERS!!!!

  • just saw you on TV!

  • I live right behind Norman North high school. I was asleep and WHAM! Scared the crap out of me. For the first 2 or 3 seconds, I thought the world was coming to an end. Then I thought a bomb went off. Then Google came to my rescue to inform me that Satan was having a fit about something, so he decided to shake the Earth.

anyways, it was definitely a weird a feeling.. Something I'll remember for a long time.

  • Wow...I've been sharing this with a bunch of people...

    Hope your house is ok...

  • @theousooner56 haha actually Oklahoma had about 79 earthquakes that can't be felt every day. I didn't feel it but some of us In Tulsa did. I honestly think the fault line that runes through ok is shifting or Texas is still pissed ou beat the or Ohio state doesn't want us to come beat them.

  • i was in Savanna, OK. thats two hours from OKC and we could feel the vibration

  • Sucks I didnt feel it. I live in Enid but town 15 miles or so from me felt it. :(

  • I was at work in OKC when it hit. My little 3 and 4 year old students started screaming. OGS actually uped the magnitude to 5.1 now. =P Can you believe this?!

  • I was at work when it hit. My little 3 and 4 year old students started screaming. OGS actually uped the magnitude to 5.1 now. =P Can you believe this?!

  • HAHAHA, thats awesome! the look of shock on his face... priceless!

  • I live in Moore and it shook my house. The closest thing I can relate the feeling to was when the Murrah building was bombed in downtown OKC when I was in high school in Del City, I felt the floor of the school shake and a few minutes later we found out the Murrah building had been bombed....Same feeling of the earth shaking. Quite unnerving!

  • Felt it in Owasso, also.

  • Wow, what timing! I'm sad that I was in the elevator when it happened (near the capital in OKC).

  • Hahaha glad I wasn't the only one to fill it, thought I might have been to hi hahaha
