@bas1lseal I've got three recordings of Double Sextet; full ones that is. And the CD will probably come out next year some time. Before they said Late 2010, but I think it's such a hard market, it will be delayed until next 2011.
@amistrymister tell me about it. there's an apparent need for reichaholics like us to consciously monitor our health, which shouldn't be the case, because the perspective on our lives it gives i think is unique. i find that reich alone has opened up my versality to appreciate so much more music than i could have done previously.

@Axonite2 I've got full recordings of all three of them - I've got three recordings of Double Sextet and two of mallet quartet and one of 2x5. The 2x5 recording, to be honest, is not very good. Levellings are all over the place and there are lots of mistakes, but it's good in some parts.
And I so totally agree with everything you just said. It has so totally opened me up to everything. But Reich's still my favourite despite any new music I discover!
@d4n13lsd You know I really don't like the second movement. And I am a Steve Reich superfan. Its just his slow movements don't do it for me as much as the fast ones.
I'm almost in agreement, but I know that if I listen to this over and over (not difficult because it is Steve Reich of course), I will learn to apreciate the slow movements too!
BTW I love the slower movements/sections in his Four Sections orchestral piece, especially the first String movement, I find it incredibly moving each time I hear it. Thanks for the uploads! ;)

And I'm not actually a fan of Reich's first movement of The Four Sections. It's the only one I won't go out of my way to listen to. I like the third movement, since it starts with Oboes. And I am an oboist! :D

i see... i agree with you but don't see this as a 'problem' with the slow ones, they simply can´t be the climax in Reich's music. they work as the space, the rests (wich are not that frequent in the other parts ;-)
the thing with this slow movement, is that it has been said that there is some new approach (for reich).
i was curious about. Sounds good for me, gentle, relaxed. Not that different but good.
