There is even something to savor in seeing and hearing Arnie, aged now, his swing, abridged and but a semblance of what it once was, say afterward, "Oh-oh!" For this was what endeared him to us. Golf's existentialist, never content to strategically play the "safe smart" shot, he was always going for broke, putting it all on the line with a slashing swing and high "whirlybird" finish, twisting, intensely peering to follow the uncertain path of his golf ball.
