  • 2 words

    bloody awsome

  • i would like to know who the 10 people are who disliked this video, because i would like to ask if any off them could come up with one good reason why they did not like the video.

  • @rory372 i concur.

  • I LOVE THIS!!!

  • i want this to happen at my funeral

  • @DannyEastes I've just written it into my will

  • eranu

  • @DANWOODHOUSE It's almost impossible to detect sarcasm on a msg board. Therefore it doesn't really work.

  • So answer me this...WHY IS IT NOT VIRAL YET????

  • Less then 2 seconds after this started, I knew I would be adding it to favourites

  • Why is anyone comparing Vic and Bob to Michael Mcintyre?

Firstly, Vic and Bob have refined their act for decades before they came to television.

They truly were pioneers of the 80s alternative comedy movement, they attracted attention from some of the biggest names in British comedy, Charlie Higson, and Paul Whitehouse to name 2. That performed together.

On the other hand, not to dis Mcintyre, but his act is vvvvery thinnly spread, with weak. And predictable observations, like Lee Evans.

  • I feel so sorry for American actors and celebrities without a sense of humour, whose agents have blatantly booked them on here to raise their profile, who have NO idea about Reeves and Mortimer's comedy and what's about to hit them. Actually, I don't feel sorry at all, I feel like pissing myself laughing.

  • @janderson1234 No, I'm American, and if you don't bother to watch at least one show before going on it, you deserve what you get. Maybe years ago, but as is evident, there is Youtube now, you have no excuse.

  • @janderson1234 Having said that, there is nothing like this on US television now. I think the closest thing was maybe The Gong Show in the '70s

  • @janderson1234 The only decent American show on nw is House MD, who is performed by the excellently British Hugh Laurie.

  • @ROCKSOLID19 Check out Community.

  • @janderson1234 some of the funniest/most cringe enducing episodes of shooting stars are the ones where the guests have no idea what the shows like!

  • Why, when I go to a Vic and Bob video, is there always comments comparing McIntyre to Vic and Bob? Seriously, Michael is funny but he has absolutely nothing on the original comedy that these 2 geniuses bring to the table.

  • @TheInternetOG it's like when it's a video of some classic song of epicness and someone talks about Justin Beiber or Lady Gaga

  • i remember this when it first aired, still funny as f..k.

  • anyone know where i could get an mp3 of this? X3

  • I wish they made a toy of this lol imagine having that as your alarm. i would love getting up in the morning!

and can everyone stop arguing about US and Uk comedies and who's better than who.

(btw UK is better or course) just go find another website to argue on, while you're on youtube just appreciate the greatness of vic and bob and dont ruin the video with your foolish comments. lets all just get along

  • Michael Mcintyre is funnier...WHEN HIS HEAD HAS BEEN REMOVED AND FLUSHED DOWN MY TOILET.

  • @GilesGilo Aw I remember that well. When we were at your place, removed Michael Mcintyre's head and flushed it down the toilet...good times!

  • loves em !

  • Just.... what?!

  • i'm just going to put this right out in front: As an American, i truly belives that Reeves and Mortimer are hands down the funniest English comics out there and, for my money, manage to crap all over what is labeled as 'decent comedy' by the arbiters of taste in my homeland. in a perfect world, THEY would be the ones ending up being broadcast stateside to great acclaim while Ricky Gervais and his pals stayed put.

  • @zarkbot88 You sir, have given me hope for the future of the human race. The media have us brainwashed to believe that the mediocrity that pervades our culture is better than what it truly is. It's all a bit sick when you start ponder it....

  • @JRHartly1984 so i'm guessing you've had enough of Gervais' constant awkwardness, right?

  • @zarkbot88 I'm not a fan.

  • Comment removed

  • @JRHartly1984 Well, god bless you then, sir. For me, i'm an escapist when it comes to comedy. i'd rather not listen to someone bitch and moan about the latest inept politician/repellant celebrity or see some constantly awkward reflection of real life (America's awash with the former while you British seem to dominate the latter). Maybe that's why i love Reeves and Mortimer so much, they NEVER beam me over the head with reality and just set the mind free.

  • @JRHartly1984 'Never a truer word spoken! I have been saying that for years i'm glad someone else has noticed it!

I am fed up with the crass, bitter and vile nature of modern 'comedy...' If there wasn't a Michael Jackson, David Beckham or George Bush the half of the snobbish cretins wouldn't have jobs!

  • @bluepheonex1989 You should see some of the abuse I got from other youtubers, just for stating that I didn't find Ricky Gervais particularly funny. Pop culture is basically just eating itself at the moment...

  • Comment removed

  • @zarkbot88 you know I was having a brilliant debate earlier - and you seem the right sort of chap to fire this one at because I couldn't answer it... - "is "The Young Ones" left or right wing comedy?

  • @bluepheonex1989 Well, from what i've seen, i can tell Rik is basically what you Brits refer to as a "middle-class wanker" posing as a Thatcher-basher.For me, he's just the Comic Strip's parody of a suburbanite ass appearing to connect with people that he belived were 'below' him.

And now i feel dirty talking about political/class stances.

  • @bluepheonex1989 The political elements were definitely lefty. But you only have to look at who made it to know that few maxims are truer than "Today's liberal is tomorrow's conservative".

  • @kisbie yah once they get into office they want to hold on to it, which is the definition of conservation

  • i love this video so much, what's the song called? just hearing it cheers me up completely.

  • I think it was Eric Morecambe said it best ' there are no funny people anymore just funny lines' was gutted that he didnt live to see Vic and Bob as i believe he would have loved them

  • I don't remember this! When was this actually in the show, anyone know? Doesn't matter too much, obviously. What matters is I laughed so hard at it I cried and ruined my make up. lol

  • I don't understand what people would watch this video and then dislike it? It makes no sense!

  • What is this track on the organ called?

  • I've been searching for this for ages, glad I've finally found it, top one!

  • VIC'S Face!!!!

  • such a nice bike

  • Dark UK sketch comedy with a hint of mint. This is our first video and we'd love to know what you think. If you like it please rate, comment, subscribe!

  • zing

  • i like watching John Bishops britan then after that, two episodes of shooting stars with my dad.

  • 'Game On' series 1 in the 90s was brilliant. However, series 2 & 3 were shit! Can't we just watch this & enjoy it without the usual slanging match?

  • Every generation thinks that the comedy they grew up with was the best. The truth is that there were good & bad in the 70s, 80s, 90s & 00s. For instance, I loved 'Rich Hall's Fishing Show' on BBC4 now on Dave. I think it was initially broadcast in 2004.

  • i NEED to learn how to play this on the piano!

  • It's from series 5 broadcast in 2002.

  • Hehe, bloody brilliant!

  • I want this as a ringtone!!

  • yeh. Skanking was an 80's dance craze. Still loves this after all these years!! BRING BACK THE MORTIMER SKANK!!!!!

  • is this what its called? skanking?

  • My type of British comedy; not that pissy, Charlie Brooker shite

  • @zarkbot88 say whaaaat charlie brooker is an absolute god. Not quite as godly as vic and bob, but still.

  • im a comedy snob... and this is completely my favourite show. i agree with everyone else, comedy in the 90's was so much better than todays crap. although, there are a few good shows that have crept through, like the i.t crowd... not as good as father ted, but its linehan, and thats got to count for something?

  • @rach1660 QI's pretty good, but 90s stuff is always the best. It's not from the 90s, but the "who's on first" sketch is hilarious. watch it sometime.

  • Just FYI, that's not skanking...

  • The newest series isn't the same with George |Dawes

    :)

  • am glad shooting stars is back on, the 2009 series was hit and miss but this new series is back to that old magic and is again the funniest thing on tv.

  • @RallyDon82 I have to agree with you there. Nothing quite like it in my opinion

  • Gotta say honestly i LOVE shooting stars but this was the worst series ever! Jus repetetive jokes every episode and jus not all that funny, seemed to run outta ideas but im so happy its back now and better than EVER! Angelos is wellll funny!

  • I wish I could make this loop.

  • @MarcusTrinnias youtubeloop . com It's brilliant with this video

  • hahahahahaha

  • eeehhhhhh XD

  • for some strange reason this reminds me of an old DOS video game, something about the perfect timing of their movements XD

  • Shouldn't have cropped out the applause. And I don't mean chocolate bar.

  • I've had this on my favourites for over 3 years and I still watch it

  • Vic based his look here on his dad, it says here

  • This is Bobs best ever skank - look at the work rate!

  • I will never get tired of this!

  • BEST. DANCE. EVER

  • man that is one rave i would totally go to

  • Ian Curtis.... Nearly....

  • Fucking love this.

  • This is like instant antidepressant.

  • class

  • I cried with laughter the first time I saw this. I miss the 90's, we had The Fast Show, Vic and Bob, Father Ted... Comedy today sucks arse. Now we have the totally unfunny Horne and Corden. I would rather pour honey over my gentlemans area and get stung by killer bee's than watch those two morons.

  • Amen to that mate.

  • It was about 2001 ish but yes totally agree with you. =]

  • Comments like JayRicci7891's one brighten up an already brilliant video.

  • @CommonSenseEccentric

    Thankyou good sir.

  • @JayRicci7891 I Totally agree but Horne & Corden is funny

  • @JayRicci7891 British comedy does suck these days; we used to be the very best :( but Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the best comedies ever written and that's pretty recent!

  • @MattTheOak

We've still Got Michell and Webb, Armstrong and Miller, The Mighty Boosh, Bleak Expectations, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, Harry Hill's Tv Burp, Need I go On?

  • @elixaristhedragonMitchell and Webb - peep show was very good, their sketch show and film were DIRE. Armstrong and miller, just an average sketch show, certainly nothing that will go down in history. ISIHAC, hardly a 'modern' comedy!! Mighty boosh I'll give you. TV Burp, a lot of fun, but not revolutionary

  • @JayRicci7891 I agree.. All the comedy now like Coming of Age.. its all the same unfunny crap that needs canned laughter to tell its retarded audiences when to laugh. I tried watching it once and I kept a straight face and give up halfway ._.

  • @JayRicci7891 shooting stars is back on :D and u should check out the mighty boosh

  • @JayRicci7891 our survey says ting

  • @JayRicci7891 - i thought i was on my own thinking that (although i hated the fast show... i think that and harry enfield was where it all started to go wrong). comedy now is just schoolboy humour about farts, drugs, shit and sex. not much wit or imagination.

  • @playgirlc Agreed. Its quite sad when you think about it. Thank God for old comedy DVD boxsets.

  • @playgirlc I like how you saved yourself some angry comments by saying 'not much' wit and imagination. ;)

  • @akiugn - well i think i was being kind, personally. i guess you can't please all of the people all of the time, lol :o)

  • @JayRicci7891

    Is there a difference?

  • @ArchLord101 Probably not :). But the killer bee's would a lot less painful than watching Horne & Corden.

  • @JayRicci7891 If you get bored with pouring honey over your gentlemens area, then you could do what I do in those situations and lower your private parts into a bowl of angry wasps.

  • @chimeramusic Already tried the 'angry wasps' my friend. But I hear that badgers are quite angry. I might try that instead.

  • @JayRicci7891, What a tip top, top tip.

  • @JayRicci7891 i agree but i would rather pour bleach in to my eyes than watch horne and corden.

  • @JayRicci7891 - Sure, there's a pile of derivative, generic asswipe about. But I think we've got a few things that might stand the test of time. Shoot me down in flames, but I look forward to everything Armstrong and Miller produce.

  • @JayRicci7891, I think actually this was from about 2000 or 2001 (ish).

  • @JayRicci7891 I agree but not all comedy sucks as much balls as they do (horne and cordon)

  • @HaRveHHH Sure, I was just using Horne & Corden as the worst example.

  • @JayRicci7891 obviously comedy is as funny today

your just looking in the wrong places

    cowards, darkplace, boosh, barley

but i get ur point, the 90s were an amazing decade for it, add JAM to your list... best of them all

  • @ShankingArmitage None of the shows you list are actually funny though pretty much like all the rubbish churned out in the last decade.

  • @Silkie341

comedy is relative so fair enough if u disagree

but to find nothing funny in a decade of entertainment is ridiculous

spent most of your time wanking yourself dry to Patridge eh?

    for shame

  • @JayRicci7891 then why the fuck are you watching it? i tell you what allow me to boot you in your balls full blast?

  • pure Genius, honest!

  • What's the tune called? (Going to make an animated gif of this)

  • only.... in the north east

  • Somewhere, Spike Milligan is looking down at Vic and Bob and is smiling like a cretin.

    His only comedy heirs.

  • @IssytOrange Amen

  • @IssytOrange Well said sir !

  • @IssytOrange I don't know about 'only'. What about Norman Lovett? Criminally underrated and purely Dadaist.

  • HEROES

  • i want peanuts as a ringtone

  • That would epicly rock.

  • tube to phone

  • Is it wrong that I keep returning to watch this?

  • no because its genius and it makes me smile everytime

  • BRING BACK MORTIMAR SKANKING!!

  • best video ever

  • Fucking awesome.

  • is it jus me that wants this tune as my ringtone?

  • haha no i want it too lol. is there a name for it thats downloadable lol?

  • go to vid to mp3 and download it and drag it on to itunes if ur usin google chrome then from itunes put it on ur phone

  • The dance is called Skanking, it was a dance craze during the early eighties when Ska was big (Madness and The Specials being two well known Ska bands). It's no different from any other dance craze that comes about, like Moshing, Headbanging or 1950'S rock and roll jives and stuff.

Anyway back to the video, it's fucking hilarious!!!

  • What the hell is this...

  • lmao i love this but can someone please explain it to me? what the dance is about and the joke behind it? or is it just them mucking about as usual hahha

  • watch one step beyond by madness, its the same type of dancing he is doing

  • Sez in Me Moir this character's based on his Dad

  • Genious

  • 0:13 is just amazing

  • Although I have found the newest series sort of unfunny so far, the latest episode with Lee Mack and that woman from 'How Clean is Your Home?' was pretty funny. The next episode looks promising also.

    On the video itself: Awesome.

  • what loads of stuff from the new series is hilarious

  • i hate to say it but the new series has lost something, its still good but without johnny vegas and stuff like this its not what it used to be

  • it's not the same as it used to be - prolly cause they're all gettin older and less physical. but it's still better than 99% of the crap the BBC usually tries to feed us. Bob should go on strictly come dancing with nothing more than this dance xD

  • ....yes! xD Thanks a lot for that image, that's priceless.

  • no he shudnt go on strictly come dancing only washed up shit celebrities go on that pile of shit.

  • it wouldn't be quite the pile of shit if vic and bob were on it skanking though would it. =]

  • yh it wud b funny if they went on it as a joke and in the middle of the dancing vic reeves appeared with his keyboard and bob pushes the girl out the way n then starts doing this dance

  • Hah! Yes. A terrific interlude. :P

  • I sense a lot of hatred within you. If you hate something so much, the trend is to simply not watch it. I don't watch it, it was merely a suggestion but I fear in the process of mentioning it I have led you into some sort of nervous breakdown. =] My apologies.

  • i don't watch it,but that doesn't preclude me from hating it,i wasn't around for ww2,i still hate the nazis, these dancing shows have a knock on effect on the kind of shows we get on tv,so every moron who watches them helps put a nail in the coffin of great original tv like shooting stars was,as fo my hate, yes i'm full of it,for you can not have light without darkness.peace out...

  • Ah don't get me wrong I totally agree with you. It was just a jovial comment that seemed to cause a reaction that's all :P

  • I never thought Johnny Vegas was funny or suited the show. Actually dont mind the new series, and I'm an R&M fan going way back.

  • disagree strongly myself!! I think the last one or two series had lost a lot and this has bought it back. Angelos and george dawes new batches of songs have been great

  • Awesome

  • ?!?!?!?! i really dont understand that

  • moves well for a man with arthirus lol. legend of a clip, and a legend of a duo. thanks for postin =]

  • *arthritus

  • legendary randomness lol

  • anyone know the actual song>?

  • I'll never get tired of seeing this as it cracks me up everytime I see this

  • Vic Reeves rules!!

  • ahh brilliant

  • I've done this in a club. Afriend who got the reference was doing it as well so I think it's allowed.

  • ahaha... LMAO... great xD

  • a total shot in the dark here but does anyone know if there is a place somewhere in the internet that i can download this awesome little tune
