  • 0:02 "You will be tentacle raped"

  • "Amnesia, the doctors called it."

    THEY MENTIONED AMNESIA.

*Throws the game away and shudders in the corner*

  • Hey in Arkham Asylum was he rescued by Batman? hahahahaha

  • I was just talking to myself, and started my sentence "basically.." and helloween interrupted me by saying "basically". goddammit.

    yeah, i do that.

  • "Hello Mr. Notcreepy."

  • EXCELLENT opening song/image

  • A couple Dollar bills to take an unknown job

  • The only inn in innsmouth

  • You hear that Mr. Anderson?... That is the sound of....Cthulhu...

  • at the beginning "Do not fuck with Cthulu" made me LOL hard

  • I meant ideal not idea l

  • You know the ironic thing is that Innsmouth is Lovecraft's idea lsociety insular almost no women or children healthy fear of the unknown just get rid of the whole mixed race aspect and it'd be paradise.

  • Metallica - call of ktulhu at the beginning. Sir, I salute you!

  • headless gunman, that reminded me of scooby doo

  • Why the hell cant i go into full screen!

  • YAY BOSTON

  • Bus driver sounds like rocky

  • Jack has beautiful hand writing no homo

  • Anderson...Anderson...where have i heard that before *lists an ass load of other video games*

  • I was looking at this guys picture on another tab, and starting to smile cause he's so adorable :3 but then you were like "Yeah that's not creepy at all, is it?" 7:10

  • Epic music in the beginning :D

  • the whole "Mr. Anderson" thing reminded me of the Matrix for some reason

  • Arkam asylum

  • Gilman, huh? Subtle.

  • 00:42 Hmm... is this related to Amnesia: The Dark Descent in any way?

  • @MinersCraftTube Relaying the fact that Amnesia is an actual mental disorder where the diseased can't remember most anything over vast periods of time in their life, and Dark Descent came out years after Call of Cthulhu. I'm going to say no. It isn't.

  • @SuperXiao I said "RELATED," not "RIPPING OFF."

  • @MinersCraftTube You really aren't looking at the DATES in both games. Seriously? Call of Cthulu is like 1920's and Amnesia is 1800s. Minor details man, if the time periods were closer there wouldn't have been any lanterns in use but flashlights instead, and actual electricity in Brennenburg. Go back and watch both videos and enjoy yourself doing so XD

  • @LJonesy2 Oh my god. It was a fucking joke. It's a horror game and the main protagonist has Amnesia.

  • @MinersCraftTube These things are really difficult to pick up in text... It looked to me and to the last guy like you were genuinely saying this, so sorry for that.

  • @MinersCraftTube Well, Amnesia was based upon The Outsider (also by LC) but I think maybe the developers of Amnesia draw alot of inspiration from CoC. Especially with the whole going insane when you see horrific things like monsters and dead bodies..

  • @Nekhet All of Lovecraft's stories involve insanity and cosmic horrors. CoC wasn't the only one.

  • @HateSolstice I know. What I meant is just that the gameplay in many ways look quite familiar. Like you should refrain from looking to long at mangled bodies or your vision will begin to blur and your heart starts racing.

  • @Nekhet Fair enough. I misunderstood, sorry about that. After having played this a bit, and having played Amnesia a lot(one of my favorite games), I can definitely see the similarities.

  • @HateSolstice NP:)

  • Bus driver was the best voice actor.

  • :D 3:40 Im in the middle of reading shadow over innsmouth!!

  • is this part 4?

  • Well, get used to hear 'Outsider' every 5 seconds.

  • I love the oblivion reference to this story- I hear this game was based off of an already existing book. Or the other way around. Either way, there was a town in Oblivion, and they kidnapped an innocent Argonian that they were going to sacrifice to bring back the "Deep Ones". I nearly died of pure joy when I read that.

  • @Darkovika The collection of stories this game is based on were published in the 1920s and 30s, and while largely obscure, those who've read them usually love these stories (I'm just beginning to read them myself), and have developed a cult following.

Most supernatural/fantasy based games, books, and movies pay tribute or pull from Lovecraft's stories. For example, Gotham's Arkham Asylum from Batman was originally a fictional location in the Lovecraft universe. Same with the Deep Ones.

  • @goji3755 Yeah, Lovecraft was a genius. Sad that he really did´nt get any credit for his works untill after his death..

  • Arkham Asylum wait is that where batman goes to fight the joker and hes henchmen .........................

  • Damn son, Lovecraft was totally bat-shit, masturbating-in-his-feces, gnawing-off-his-tongue, eating-his-own-toes PSYCHO

  • @mphst6 Believe it or not, there was nothing actually wrong with Lovecraft. He didn't drink, smoke or do drugs, and even though his married life was short, his wife pronounced him an "adequately excellent lover." If anything, he was slightly antisocial, and even that didn't affect him much.

  • @DoctorMinatoArisoto To tell the truth, he was addicted to something, that he couldn`t pass a week without having one. Every week he would comit what he called his "Weekly Sin", that was, an ice cream cone XD

  • @Spyritmonger Poor Lovecraft and addiction to ice cream, coffee, spagetti, jam, baked beans, etc. etc. etc.

P.S. Sorry for not answering for so long.

  • @mphst6 Why do you assume he was insane because he wrote these stories? One doesn't have to be insane or high to tap into the part of their brain that doesn't only survive off of sex, slapstick comedy, and meat. He was one of the ancient people who did a marvelous thing called thinking and imagining.

  • @xXRawrJanisXx

a sane man can act insane to serve his purpose, but an insane man cannot.

  • @Bloodyidit I`d wager against that actually. Insanity is a fairly broad term these days to describe any form of mental illness...some mental illnesses are easier to hide than others and the patient can come off as perfectly normal, even downright charming until their trigger is set off.

  • @grindorblackout1986

oh sorry, i mean the buttfuck insanity that's attributed to the Chuthulu Mythos.

I kinda got carried away with the rhetoric there.

  • @Bloodyidit That`s alright. What Jack suffered from is considerably harder to hide, not to mention the victim`s state of mind would make them decidedly unconcerned with trying to hide it.

  • @mphst6 Actually, it's the quiet ones you have to look out for :/

  • Arkham Asylum??

First I thought of Batman, only after that I recalled the towns name in Color Out of Space which was HP too if I remember right...

Someone explain this to me? xD

  • @Webbaren Arkham Asylum was a recurring location in many of H.P's stories. Since a running theme of his stories was insanity, the Batman comics pay tribute by giving that name to their prison, since all the inmates were "completely mad".

  • @ahmadWR200M I don't think that the place appeared in that many stories, and when it did it was called Arkham Sanitarium, unless my memory's completely messed up. But the connection between Lovecraft's stories and insanity was strong enough that some comic writer decided that a homage was in order.

  • dont fuck with cthulhu. you, my friend, are awesome

  • Holy Jesus! Those things, in the blinding light, resemble the Yithians!!

  • @PsychoReaper49 You don't say....

  • The voice actors really are bad. Not to mention that they apparently have no idea what a Boston or New England accent sounded like at the time. Not fans of classic films, I suppose.

  • *picked up my cigarette* "Don't smoke, kids. It's bad for you. *put my cigarette down and glared at the monitor*

  • Sound.... is so LOW! Can't hear shit :(

  • @Kaasz0rz Get some new speakers, or headphones, the audio is fine for me.

  • @DeltaBravo1216 I have a G330, they are fine. I turned the volume way up, it's just RELATIVE!!! Trololoooo

  • @Kaasz0rz gotta get those headphones man

  • Ugh... I forgot how disgusting they sound when they talk. It's like they have a really bad cold or something. Or just came from the dentist...

  • @crazyeivis if u read there aspossd ta sounng that way

  • what kind of accent does that bus driver have? he sounds like hes retarded...

  • @Dudethatstrippin mouthian

    inns

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHH SHIT! I saw the desk clerk and remembered what was going to happen, this won the scariest game award a few years back on Xplay. Back when G4 was still a gamer network...

  • Damn, that boy got a copy of the Book of Eibon AND Nameless Cults?

    Holy shit, that's badass.

  • yay for the intro

  • Is it just me, or does Helloween's voice always seem to fit when he reads notes in horror games?

  • The citizen of Innsmouth sounds like Christian Bale.

  • metallica.... xD

  • "Don't smoke kids its bad.." lol, with his luck Jack will probably get eaten by Cthulu quicker than die of lung cancer .

  • "When my eyes opened and I spoke, my colleagues recoiled in fear; there was something unnatural in my voice and blank gaze... but I maintain that I was always like that.

  • is this blink?

  • mr anderson

  • @felic70 lawl

    ... O .o

  • hahaha call of ktulu of however metallica spelt it ;P

  • @colashanacogh metallica spelt it wrong for the reason of this "you are not allowed to say his name" so they spelt it ktulu not cthulhu

  • @iwinz3 They spelled it wrong because they have no grasp on the subject matter.

    And, apparently, neither do you.

You're thinking of a bastardization of Hastur, but really, you mean Y'golonac. And that only applies if you're a pervert.

  • Arkham Asylum!!! ahah didnt know this game had ties to batman? i guess batman isnt Bruce Wayne...its Jack Walters!!!

  • @SgtSanchezz

The Arkham Asylum name is taken from Lovecraft's work.

  • lol at 0:00, I thought I recognized that music from somewhere

  • man i love how jack didnt say thank you to the bus driver he seemed like a nice guy

  • What video should I be watching after part 2 of To Innsmouth?

  • @67crow76 it's CTHULHU grrrrrr

  • @MightyReign Cthulhu has also been spelled as Tulu, Clulu, Clooloo, Cthulu, C'thulhu, Cighulu, Cathulu, Kathulu, Kutulu, Kthulhu, Q’thulu, K'tulu, Kthulhut, Kulhu, Kutunluu, Ktulu, Cuitiliú, Thu Thu.

    So much for that :P.

  • @KenFromHell in true, this name have no orrect form. Because there's no gramatical form, only verbal. Sorry if my English is poor XD.

  • 8:20

    "im looking for Brian Bernham"

    (satanic voice) "cant help you"

he either has a satanic voice or the fact that their by arkham asylum means their related to batman and his deep voice issues -_-

  • @MikeDupris Yeah I would've ran back on the bus and said "DRIVE DAMNIT DRIVE"

  • @MikeDupris he kind of sounded like jigsaw to me

  • My name is not ANDERSON ITS NEO!!!!

  • Nice use of Call of Ktulu by Metallica at the start there dude!

  • Great vids you got there Helloween4545!

  • am I alone here thinking about the Matrix when hearing Mr.Anderson?

  • Mr. Anderson!

    Did you get my package?

  • lol arkham asylum, i wonder if he saw the joker in there.

  • first pic

    me" D: RAPE!

  • whats up with the starting

  • "Don't smoke kids, It's bad for you." That made my day xD

  • @soderholm13

    haha me2

  • lol, this town reminds me of "HACKDIRT" from Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. The people are creepy and cult like, worshipping unnatural creatures.

AND...if you sleep at the inn, you wake up to see some guy trying to kill you!

  • well Hackdirt and the quest attached to it are based on "Shadow over Innsmouth" the same as this game so there should be a few similarities.

  • That is cause that town is inspired by H.P Lovecraft's "Shadow over Innsmouth"

  • @ccrstarpanda Well Hackdirt WAS based on Innsmouth

  • went to arkham asylum. delivered directly by batman

  • wow

looks very faithfull to the novel

  • omg i laughed so hard in myself because just as you said "dont smoke" i light up a cigarette myself :D

  • No gun? You'd think I private eye would have one.

  • did he see batman and his bed was beside joker's right...lol arkham asylum

  • @Madnessofoblivion Arkham is a Lovercraft's and not DC's original idea.

  • That would be more hazardous to your sanity than being posessed by a Yithian.

  • mixed-blood - a person whose ancestors belonged to two or more races

  • I think that the manager of the store was a minor character in The Shadow Over Innsmouth story. I think I'd really enjoy this game.

  • @RexDartEskimoSpy and so is rambo's grandpa the bus-driver

  • Since Rambo doesn't turn into a fish man during any of the Rambo movies, probably not.

  • ITS SO OBVIOUS !!! bruce was a crazed detective before he became batman lmao (it talks about him be sent to akham asylum )

  • @alston2reel damn ur joke was better lol

  • the start is funny, do not fuck with cthulhu lol

  • this is it stranger end of the line.

the same thing the busdrivers say to me!

  • if a bus driver said that to me, and if it were night, I'd have to run the f**k away. XD Cthulhu cultists might be around. lol

  • It's starting to look a lot like fish-men~

  • This may be a spoiler so don't read if you haven't watched the rest of the LP.

So, I also haven't finished watching but it may take me awhile, but in those six years, Jack was a captive mind to a Yith right? That seems to be it, it makes sense. Is that what happened? I'm sure it tells you later but I thought I'd ask.

  • book title "unaussprechilchen kulten" should say "unaussprechlichen..." and still it's a stupid thing to say in German. like they had some weird name that's unbelievable hard to pronounce, heh.

Awesome game and videos though, couple of funny comments :)

  • Mr. Anderson... We... don't take this kind of job... Sorry you have to leave the matrix now

  • He's like a mix between Trilby and Torque

  • The voice actors really murder the script, don't they?

"I've gone insane, I'm seeing Elder Things appearing out of portals. Meh, no need to register emotion, though."

  • @igneousfizzlebottom Apart from BioShock, when has a horror game ever had good Voice acting? XD

  • @AlexLong1000 But BioShock isn't much of a horror game. I'd say it's more of a "Immersion" game.

  • Cthulhu Arkham is much older than Batman Arkham

  • best game for the old xbox.wats up with the little girl that died?

  • did he met Joker or Two Face while he was in Arkham :D

  • I was thinking the same. I wonder then if this means the name "Arkahm Asylum" was taken from something prior to Batman, and used in both Batman and other "dark" fiction.

  • Holy shit O_O;;;

Satanic Voice + Right Behind you = yes this is the game for me

  • Same.

  • ditto

  • watching freaking gameplay from this vg and cutscenes has seriously made me nervous lol this has got to be a good game if its fucking with me that much wooooo

  • METALLICA!

  • For some reason every time the main character says anything with a 'fff" or "sss" or "shh" sound it makes my ears bleed ;(

  • dude, that is so metal

  • Arkham Asylum was originally from some of lovecraft's stories. it was referenced in the Batman comics by the asylum outside Gotham being of the same name.

  • oh my gawd the bus driver is giant spook man!

  • he has bad teeth

  • Oh remember this story! The like, fishfuckers, right?! :D

  • yep, half human half-Cthulhu village people.

  • Half Deep one!

  • Everything seemed kinda like a normal-creepy... up until the guy at 8:23, that kinda freaked me out a little...

  • Everyone sounds like Batman or Dr. Girlfriend,

  • You know... people that are prepared to see these things would be much less likely to react like the people in Lovecraft's stories...

i mean, comprehension of such things should protect you to some degree from the fear that comes with seeing such things...

  • Stewie Griffin XD

  • jack should hurry there is only 17 years left to war...

  • Wow, the money Mr. Anderson (HAHAHAHA) gives you...they're all ones XD

  • one dollar was a lot in the time this game was based in

  • watching this lp made me regret not getting a cthulhu plushie at the cthulhu booth during comic-con D:

  • lol i would regret it too

  • The Innsmouth look you say? I think I've seen a bit of that on the Jeremy Kyle show D:

  • The tune you chosen in your presentation is most appropriate... FU?%$NG NICE!

  • do not fuck with cthulhu XD that was awesmo

  • Headless statue, looks like this town was recently ravaged by Bart Simpson!

  • Lol everybody in the town sound like batman but in a creepy voice

  • silent hill 5 homecoming part 1 scary what the hll

  • We require more Call of Cthulhu games!

  • I got this game and running it through xbox 360 and I CAN'T HEAR ANY OF THE SOUNDTRACK MUSIC AND SOMETIMES ANY SOUND AT ALL! How do I fix this?

  • Mr.anderson lol just watched the matrix
