This track kinda sounds like it would fit in a "Pirates of the Carribean" fight scene('specially from 2:15 on)! Not a bad fit in this scene neither, but didn't Dougan also create music for another fight scene in the Matrix Reloaded!
Really good job on this track. Dunno if I prefer it to what they used but I agree with others that said it fits in with the rest of the films music better. I think they could have gone with either piece and it would have been fine.
I think that the beat used in the final cut is a lot more... appropriate. Don't get me wrong, for I am a MASSIVE fan of amazing orchestral music like this, but the matrix is a virtual world, so to have all the real techno beats in there really makes me remember that fact. :)
This track gives this film a different feel indeed. It makes it epic! It also doesn't make the movie feel dated like the techno track in the film. Either way, this just goes to show Don Davis should really be scoring films more.
I prefer this track to the one used in the actual film. This rack gives a completely different feel to the scene and I like it much better than the feeling I got listening to the other track.
Actually, the track used when Trinity says "I don't have time for this shit" is called "Time's Up," but I can see how it can be mistaken for "Chateau Swashbuckling" as the beginning of "Time's Up" is very similar to certain parts of "Chateau."
Probably alone in this but this sounds too desperate. Neo was never really exerting himself against these vampire things. Chateau gives the impression that all this asskicking is just a formality. This sounds like he's fighting for his life.
You know, so many directors and producers go for techno music because it sounds cool, but when you want music that really heightens the drama, the orchestra works infinitely better.
While I found both cues good, Rob Dougan's track is better suited for montages and trailers, and Don Davis' works better for continuous sequences.
This would have been more fitting for a chase scene or a softer fight scene. Maybe with just swords? Still, it sounds wonderful. Where did you get this? Can I have it? x3
It's a beautiful track but so NOT fitting this scene. Im glad they chose Rob since this scene just required some more spice!
Dont get me wrong, I love Don Davis but his music is mostly soft with alot of trumpets etc.(the orchestra's are quite loud though) but it just needed some techno shizzle to make this thing work :D
i loved the techno theme the brothers went with but i think Davis's original score captured the depth and scope of the sequences, this piece is just so dark compared to what they actually went with. wish i could hear this music with the sound effects
The track I am talking about I don't think was ever on the official Reloaded soundtrack. "Double Trouble" happens to be the name of the track in the "complete score" version I have. And yes, "Double Trouble" is also the title of the song from Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban.
I want to DL all the soundracks too. I was wondering if ANYONE knows the song when Morpehues fights the twin things in the garage. I like that whole little part
I do think that the Wachowskis cheated Don Davis and the musical complexity of their own films by using Dougan's track. Just listen to the rest of the music that plays in the other scenes in the Chateau, and the fight scene in club Hel. They all correspond to this track. So maybe Dougan's track worked better for this scene, But Davis's track worked better for the movies as a whole.
Thanks Amz. I actually have the complete scores to all 3 movies. Each score is almost 2 hours long and I LOVE IT. Just tell me of a score from some movie and I'll see if I can get it. Btw, I was able to get the missing track I was looking for from Matilda, it wasn't too big of a deal, but I HAD to get the missing track, so I I'll make you a CD soon.

Awful film, good score.

The track is nicely composed but it doesn't fit the pace and action of the scene that well.

This piece inspired me to write an action scene in one of my short stories. I love it when movie soundtracks do that.

I prefer the Rob Dougan version. This sounds way too Superhero-y
KingPointy 1 year ago
@KingPointy
Isn't that point though? The story has "Neo" as this penultimate superhero-y person so that's what this score created for the scene in mood.

This song saved the whole movie (M2). Hahaha!

That just wasn't the case.

Without the sound effects to distract me, I finally appreciate how awesome that kick was at 0:10!

It's a guy. I thought it was a woman, but its the guy who made up a lot of the moves in the fights.

Oh, that can be fixed, I think. Can you put it up? The music was modified with a beat from one of the songs included in the album.

I may just put it up. : )
