When a horse opens up to the canter, you can sit at almost any speed of a balanced three-beat gait. It makes sitting, keeping your heels down, and keeping a prepared jumping seat a lot more difficult at almost ANY level to sit the canter as this is called a driving seat and would require rapid harm and arm movements which distracts ability and focus from the jumping.
1/2 seat keeps your form excellent, and the horse unrestrained and from being distracted or affacted negatively.
@bridlelessgirl he can perfectly sit a canter when i show my horse before we jump i sit half seat so that she can open her stride so its a big slow canter :)
@bridlelessgirl He can sit. If he couldn't sit he'd be bouncing uncontrollably, but you can tell he's intentionally doing that. It's called half seat. It keeps the rider off the horse's back and therefore lets the horse open and balance their canter more.
@bridlelessgirl LOOOOLL!!!! Your comment is so....how should I put it.... stupid!! You dont seem to understand all the things he's doing on this course.. so relax and confident rider that struggles to keep the horse's balance on each jump....Great course....if not perfect....
i love riding! i do lessons every week. i love jumping the most because of the trust you must have between you and your horse xP your right though, cross country is really fun! i have don cross country (non competetive) a couple times on a different horse from the one i ride now. the horse i ride now is an ex-pacer therefor will not jump and i can not do cross country on her =(
I love the way you use not too many effects, so it's focusing on the actual horses, and the music you pick! It all fits together so perfectlyyy! Love it :D
that doesn't really make sense, he looks fine to me. He's no Authentic, but it's a good horse and hes plenty scopey enough: that's how they made it to the World Equestrian Games (WEG) shown in this vid here. I don't want to start anything but good, video, i dont see anythign wrong with the horse. Thanks :o)
@HorseGirl265 his ears are forward the whole time!! all showjumpers make those finiky movement with theire heads, if the horse didnt want to jump, then trust me, it would make sure thzt the rider knew it!
wow thats amasing...! But is also sad the horse has so much potential put if he has to jump that high all the time what a life!!! he can only do so much and them jumps are alot!!! BUT SHOWJUMPING RULES!!!!!!!!! AND SO DO HORSES!!!
All showjumpers are the same way, that's what they do, although in between shows, the professinals will only train over fences 2-3 days a week to give the horses a break. It's not a bad life considering all the advancements and stiff with boots and linimetns and supplement--the horses are REALLY well cared for, and they enjoy their job. Thanks. :o) haha ttly agree, SHOWJUMPING RULES!!!!
@HorseGirl265 teh trainers only jump there horses once a week to refreshen them b4 shows! the have so many supplemsnt and aids to make sure that the horse is totally fit and sound/happy! more than poor racehorses! the horses enjoy their jobs, as you can see his ears are forward
CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok i am a rider and tht is like crazy i have seen i b4 bu trst me in my riding career i am NOT gonna do tht , wowow tht is like a really good pair
i cant believe people dont think this is a sport! my gym teacher told me it wasnt b/c im not doing any work the horse is! its so stupid this is soooo a sport! it takes a lot of work the horse isnt doing it all!
i wasnt saying it to the person in the vid and i do know cuz ive been riding horses my whole life so watch what you say..ive had a horse fall on me so i do know..i was talking to a guy to a comment before this and he was saying how easy it looks and how easily he could have done this but hes never ridin a horse before so thats why i said it...im not saying that i could do that stuff cuz i cant..i dont jump much I do Saddle Seat so yea dont freak on me cuz i wasnt ripping on the person in the vid
@emilou2812 I think you would find that a horse that powerful and springy in his hocks would be nearly impossible to sit to once you get him into a canter that makes it easy for him to jump those heights.
yeah I do horseriding ;D just got back from my lesson 30 minutes ago :P I love horseriding, but unfortunately there's no cross country track at my stable :/ but this summer I gonna have an own horse for a couple fo weeks so maybe I'll try it then :D
yeah It's sweden ;) no I don't have my own horse, but at my ridinglessons (where we ride the ridingschools horses) do alot of jumping and dressage training :P so I wish we could do some cross country training as well but as I said there's no track...really wish I had my own horse thoe :) do you have one?
Kwl... Its pretty much the same at mi riding school but we have a cross country track aswell.... ;) Ummm.. yeh i do... I have a mare and she just foaled 8 weks ago... The foal is a filly (girl) and we called her Bella.. She is brown and she has a white blaze... Its the white strip going from their head to their muzzle (nose).... And i also have another horse but we use him for Show jumping, dressage, cross country etc.... ;D And we have 2 donkeys which we show aswell... Lol.. =D XD
@naturelover91 Do you do mostly verticals when u jump? 'Cause a lot of crosscountry courses have slight spreads and if u do mostly verticals now, expect some slight problems over the summer with the jumps- I know because theres a jump at my barn thats a vertical w/ 2 pinetrees under it and I fell off in the end b/c I was expecting a vertical and got a spread.
such a brilliant easy ride around that course !! a clear round well deserved
