I could hear the different inflections that you imposed in the areas specified. You made the song sound like it had three movements. I am studying your performance, and hope to do half as well as you did. Not many are blessed with a talent as pure as yours.
I like this recording. The tone is pure and innocent almost like a boy soprano. I'm not sure but I think Mendelssohn originally had this aria for treble boy. Or maybe I'm just thinking of Ernest Lough.
@othx11 Hi there - Mendelssohn wrote the soprano part for Jenny Lind, a soprano known for larger roles such as Agathe in Der Freischutz. It's generally sung by much larger voices than the young lady in this video, I should imagine because of the need to play an older woman as "The Widow" in part one of Elijah.
Sublime!! congratulations! great singer...

What a beautiful, pure tone you have! Perfect for the 'youth' that Mendelssohn specifies. It isn't thin at all, but clear and vibrant.

Voice too thin for this piece. needs more drama !!!!

Yes, I was thinking of something else, sorry.

With microphone enhancement, flatness and a lack of emotion, the technique needs training. It would wise to listen to Erna Berger

Make sure on the faster notes you don't fall flat, also you put emotion because it is a very dramatic passage, after all, most of it is God speaking!

Just lovely. I had to put down my donut to tear up.

Beautiful voice, but there didn't seem to be a lot of emotion behind the text of the song.

Great voice, there just didn't seem to be any emotion behind the words.

Beautiful voice... great diction. Not an easy song to sing for young voice. Did a fantastic job. Bravo !!

Nice tone BUT towards the end, the organist and soprano were not together. But that is the wonderful thing about live performances.
