Have you guys even read her autobiography? I'm reading a lot of comments on how horrible her mother was and she was the reason that she started using, but how come no one is mentioning her father? He was an abusive, drunk fuck up and he screwed up Drew more than her mother ever could, but her mom got all the blame because she was the only one around.

It simultaneously breaks my heart & pisses me off to read of the time John D Barrymore came home (apparently to beat up Jaid), and little 3-year-old Drew enthusiastically called out "Daddy!", only to be picked up & hurled into the wall by her drunken violent asshole of a father! Yrs later Drew was gracious enough to give him a home & pay his medical bills until he died.

nooooo, nothing to do with that, since she was around 12/13 when they died she was by then on alcohol, cigs, weed and coke.

she started smoking and drinking at 9, smoking weed at 10 and snorting coke at 12.

this here must have been shortly before her first rehab and, and then after her second rehab she had a suicide attmept at 14 and got to psychiatry, at 15 she divorced her parents and worked as a waitress getting her life back together.

and all because of her sucking mom.

Actually, I just found an interview with Gaby Hoffman online which says that it was 1989/Drew was 13, and I am going to believe that one. This video said both 1987 in one place, and 1989 in another, but obviously you are right, it was 1989.

It was actually 1987.  I was 10 going on 11 when it was shot and I'll be 34 in December. Drew was 12 if I remember correctly!

@elenwashere No this is really 1989... Gaby Hoffman(the smallest girl) was 7 years old(born March 1982)... Drew Barrymore was born in March 1975 so she was 14... she only looks older because of the 80s style, its the shoulder pads.. if you read their bio's on imdb it says they were on this show in 1989
