Sadly the days of CID sitting around in offices chain smoking and discussing how best to get into the knickers of the new barmaid down at the local boozer over a whiskey from a bottle hidden in the top drawer are a thing of the past.

This episode shows how the real Ted Roachs found themselves lost in a new policing world that didn't want them as they considered them and their methods dinosuars that belonged in the past.

When Ted Roach left Sunhill it was the end of an era for the old guard.

The Chief Super has never liked DS Roach...way back when it was said that Ted would never make DI whilst Brownlow was in charge.....and I just love the us and them attitude between them upstairs and the woodentops....up until the great fire where a lot of the cast were killed off, this was one of the best shows in tv history, I reckon.....
