@Thedelightfulonion If you didnt read the description, they are orphaned and being raised by the animal sanctuary. Meaning she decide to go out and steal them from the wild to have as cool pets. No, they wer abandoned and would have died as cubs if they didnt take them in. Shes rescuing them.
@BloodyFlesh626 There's such things as Wildlife Rehabilitator. You can rescue an animal and release it back into the wild preparing it through training and minimal human contact or at least in a habituate that resembles the wild, a human home is not suitable despite her good intentions.
@Thedelightfulonion True, but many times the intention behind centers like this one is not necassarily designed with the intention of reintroduction, although that is the best kind. They are meant to preserve the genetic diversity of the species as a whole. These cats can't be reintroduced, but future generations might. Ultimately, you are correct in saying a home is not the BEST place for them, however, it does have its purpose.
@AlexanderGailson Yes I think you have a valid point and I hope that's what she does do in the future, or a reserve and not just live in her house. The white lions are lovely.
@Rattlehead7211 Comparing your average dog and cat to tigers, lions and cheetahs is hardly a comparison. They have proper killer instincts and need to for fill that role
She only has the cheetah staying with her in the house. The adult lion and tigers would kill the cheetahs and dogs and potentially people for that matter.
Love all the people in the comments claiming they know more about raising wild cats than this woman who is actually doing so. Have you ever raised a wild cat? Probably not. They look healthy and happy, and that's all that really matters. Besides, I'm pretty sure she already knows the dangers of raising them.
just wait till the day their wild nature comes out and she gets hurt. they may be beautiful and cute, but they are not pets. they belong in the wild, or at a sanctuary. not someones house.
@prowlerwolf88 first off, she lives in a house AT a santuary, secondly, animals generally wont attack the person who looked after them when they are babys, have you heard the story christian the lion?
@FreyaTheNerdyNinja Not true at all. When cubs become adults their parents are competition for food and can fight to the death for territory as tigers have proved. As far as humans go, plenty of attacks have occured on their keepers no matter how close the bond.
@nickibaby64 The woman he attacked was a very close friend who was often round at the house around the chimp. She was no stranger. And besides, you're missing the point. What happens when the woman has a friend round, or a client, or a courier guy? What happens if she leaves the door open and the cats escape? It's the principle of keeping a wild animal in the house that is plain wrong.
This is wrong. Those animals are wild, not domesticated. They should never be kept as pets. It's not right for their welfare or needs, and it's dangerous to her. Even the most tame of pets can turn. Look up Charla Nash if you need to.
@Keilahx I agree, these animals are keep in a small house, it almost seems to me that they would be much happier in the wild or even at a zoo, not living as house cats.
Dudes they have a chance to attack but if you train them right and get them as cubs and feed them so they don't get nasty I might be fine but u still have a chance to attack but it's a extremely small chance for the cheetahs
I want her life! I want to so badly work with large cats. I'm going to school for vet. technician and one day hopes to work my way up to work like this (hands on).
Is she dead yet?? If not.....soon she will be and the story will be something like this: Highly experienced keeper of big cats got mauled to fuckin' death today by one of her most beloved cats! Ya'll know it's just a matter of time...............
hmmm somehow though this seems dangerous....I find it really cute!!!... but if she's the mother figure from birth then she'll be fine....if done correctly they can be domesticated that being said dogs can become bad too and the risk factor here is higher but it's all in the raising process really
While I was getting lost in Youtube, I saw this and when I saw the title it read : Woman Who Lives With Lions,Tigers I thought the it would be bears xD
Wild animals are wild animals. No matter how much you imprint them as babies, they're still going to have the same instincts as a wild animal. I sense something is going to happen that won't be as happy as shown. I support her work, but you have to treat animals like their wild, they still have those same instincts in them, domesticated dogs and cats have been bred for millions of years to get the wildness out of them. Cheetas and others don't have that, they still have those instincts.
@SaraNightfire1 - although you make a valid point about wild instincts. It is also the job of the owner to know how to treat them and train/fulfill their thirst for wild activity. This lady, Ken Richardson, and over a thousand others out there have wild-cats under their care, non of them have been attacked. So I'm not sure how to apply the whole wild-instinct theory. In circus and other showing environments animals real needs are neglected which is why they turn, same goes for unskilled owners.
This woman has raised these cats since they were babies and it seems they're constantly in contact with her. If you consider the cases when dogs - animals with a long domestic history and ofthen called "man's best friend", attack and injure or even kill people you may babble about how this woman's in for a hell of a thrashing one day. But in fact most of the dogs that attack people have been poorly raised, a lot of them were kept barred off from their "family", or had insufferable people around
they might love her, but all animals can snap almost instantly no matter how much they are loved, or love there owners, i have mad respect for people doing this, but damn she got balls :P
Omg I would LOVE to live in her house! My fav animal is the cheetah, but on the whole I pretty much adore all the cat family! Tho my 2nd fav animal is the bear!! Grr
@XquisiteVx That chance is there for every single animal, cats, dogs, gerbils, mice. But all animals, even wild ones, have the ability to show compassion and love. The risk is there but often times, the risk is worth the reward.
Anyone here see the show Fatal Attractions on animal planet? Every single episode features some fool who insists that their tigers or poison dart frogs or crocodiles REALLY DO LOVE THEM. Right up until they get eaten.
woman and there cats lmao, but i admit having a lion and a cheetah as a house guard is the ultimate defense. u have one of the strongest and the fastest pets.how much for a cheetah?
@GreatScottPilgrimage shut up are you kidding? You obviously have no idea about the nature of the brain of any animal. If she has raised them since they were young, still present in the oral or anal stage, they will have completely imprinted the woman into their memories. They will know her smell to be a good smell, as she is the feeder. If she holds the food, she holds the 'love'. Its exactly the same with human babies and their mothers. SO no, she will never be ripped apart by them.
@xxemiiladdxx Did u just say Oral or Anal stage? Sounds like something Sigmud Freud would say. Freud was a pretty clever idiot. And did u just equate a human baby with a crocodile baby? I think u need a biology lesson.
@xxemiiladdxx Actually, wild cats maintain their wild instincts regardless of who holds the food. They have been know to attack their caregivers regardless of how 'nice' they are. They should be respected and loved safely as with all wild animals. My respect goes out to people that care for them properly.
@xxemiiladdxx No, it's you that has no idea how an animal's brain works... a wild animal won't hesitate to turn on a person solely because they were the ones that fed them regularly from birth... If they had a need to feed and she (her actual body) was the only source of meat available, I promise you they wouldn't decide to starve. I wish people like you would stop fabricating information that you would like to believe and presenting it as proven fact. Wild animals are "wild". That simple.
@xxemiiladdxx That's not a reason to take away the instinct of a wild animal. In all cases where humans coexist with wild animals the human has been attacked. I can understand her love for cats but living with some of them is a very stupid thing to do.
@xxemiiladdxx you my friend, are the biggest moron in the world.
1st off to compare human minds by saying "It's exactly the same with human babies and their mothers" shows how little you think of yourself. Also food does not equal love. Those animals merely tolerate that women since she has been with them since birth but they sense a difference and they know she's weaker then them. Any wrong move she makes, thats that bitches ass
@o0oBrokenCityo0o Actually thats not completely right, xxemiiladdxx does have a point in saying that if she's raised them since they were babies, they're going to think of her as "mother" and they'll to her for protection and food if they're scared. But you also have a point in that they're not completely human and she needs to remember that they are wild animals at heart and that she needs to be very careful around them.
@BiscuitMinnie2 I agree with you that since they're still young they might see her as a protector but as "mother" no.
Their instincts tell them otherwise. They know she's weaker, she communicates differently and she smells different then themselves. They recognise each other as the same and National Geo. say that when they're bigger, she will be looked at as the weaker "outcast" and they will begin to test her.
@xxemiiladdxx You should listen to the tv show called "fatal attraction" on Animal Planet. People who raised tigers and lions since they were babies... and at the end the animal instinct was stronger... It's real stories of real people, instinct cannot be lost.
Still she's very lucky to be able to live with them, and I wish nothing ever goes wrong :)
@xxemiiladdxx ....I would like to bet you she will get torn out da' frame in the end. These are apex predators, regardless if you raise them their instincts are just too fuckin' strong. Especially if she has a male and that territorial game starts to kick in as it gets of age. It's just nature, who the fuck is man but just a meal on the Serengeti plain god dammit!
@zfima We'll your dog could maul some-one to death, your son/daughter could kill some-one. So i guess you shouldn't have any sort of pets or children.
