@88Mobius actually in order to capture the sound correctly, given the placement of the microphones and to eliminate reverberation off the ground or any other stationary object as intended for the rifle to be shot, he must hold it up and away for the most acurate quality of sound from the rifle, i dont believe he is trying to show off, plus holding it standing in the shoulder is also incorrect, this is a weapon meant for its weight to be supported by something else (usally the ground)

its the same weapon. all guns have their slang name and also a proper manufactures model code. such as the SA 80 is actually the L85 A2. the m82 is the proper code for the barret 50.cal because barret is the actual manufacturer.

Hey The M82A1 is the Finalized Version of The Barrett 50. Cal, The M82A1 Didn't have the moving Barrel as you can see but in Layman's terms they are the same gun. Just here for info. If you are PSN im Plague267. Peace!

M82A1 in SOCOM 3/CA was an old version of the gun, it's now a semi-automatic Sniper Rifle which has the capability to shoot .50 caliber rounds. In Confrontation, they still keep the bolt-action style. Kinda gay, but meh.

The M82A1 IS the Semi Auto Barrett.

Ronnie Barrett is the inventor/creator of the gun. So to the Civilian Public, it is known as the "Barrett .50 cal".

However, in the Military, the US Military ALWAYS gives a weapon a "Designation".

This makes sure no confusion or logistical problems occur like there would if two guns both had the "Barrett" name(and they do).

The Barrett 50 cal is mistakenly called a "Sniper Rifle". It is an "Anti-Material" Rifle. Used to disable vehicles.

"M82" is the name given to these. "A1" is the version.

I hope SOCOM-Confrontation uprades the old M82A1 w/ the M107. It has much more Recoil buffering and a redesigned freefloating barrel. They better make it semi-auto (fast as u pull trigger) cause that is what the M82A1/M107 are designed for
