Wow is just going towards craping out as much rushed content as they can with a bunch of revamps.Blizzard cares about making cash now.And that's all they care about.
World PvP was epic back then. Although saving up for the first epic mount took a long ass time, it was worth it when you could catch alliance scrubs without 100% speed mounts ¬_¬ BWL was a really fun instance :] I haven't played since 2009ish so i didn't even buy Wrath or Cataclysm.
for those of you interested you can still play vanilla wow on private severs fenix wow is a nice vanilla sever with fast lvling and alot of content and and another sever is scripcraft they are still adding in content but it is more difficult and better scripted and you start at lvl 49

I dont think kargath were popular place to pvp. It was either crossroads (xs!!) or hillsbrad. That was atleast before wsg came up, and everybody that rerolled/transfered from different realms said the same. The amount that changed since vanilla is so much. Im actually one of those players that achieved rank14 in old pvp system so I could say I know how much time and effort it required back then. To me, glory of pvp died on the day Bliz implemented resilience. Before that it was more enjoyable.
I started in bc and I think wow at it's best was lk as u still had to work for stuff but leveling was not as hard as bc. But as it stands I have 6 85's and a few just below leveling is why I play wow but I do miss the old style mainly the Druids tree form xx

It "felt" boring and confusing in Vanilla. You never really got directed to do anything, sort of had to figure what you could do and what was within your means and ability to do. That didn't make it any better.

I totally agree with everything you said. I remember that mounts were the BIGGEST deal back in vanilla wow. And so hard to get. I spent so long try to even get my lvl 40 mount. Now you get your mount at lvl 20 for like 8 gold. I miss vanilla wow and blackrock mountain... :(

If Mintchiplol has the closest connection to early patches of Vanilla, that's fine, but you can't argue that MC is recognized for dropping anything other than tier 1 to the majority of people (except leggings)

I started playing during WoLK and when i started playing i had no idea at all what the game was about. I hadn't watched videos or anything,it was completely new. it definitely felt different at level 1-55 than it did in the zones of BC and wrath. I think i did get to feel how it was to be a vanilla noob. i didnt raid of course,i wasnt even in a guild, but it felt simpler
The only tier 2 I ever remember dropping from MC was from Rag. I never heard differently, and I've been exalted with hydraxian waterlords on 3 different charters.
Therebirth (google it, 4th in list I think - look down till you see wow things) BRAND NEW 1.12.. Exactly blizzlike, no donation gear, 1x exp, classic drops, Raid progression - MC, Ony, etc.. No early ZG - Classic order of releases. No stupid corrupt GMs and slacky devs. Population growing daily, but it's pretty much brand new and people still leveling to 60. Really great feel and I suggest this new realm to anyone.
vanila was hard and grind like mad if blizz put that crap back to wow it will die as evryone would go play difrent games :P And resi was good idea rofl if they didnt add it now evryone would just oneshot each other that would be realy imba.. NOT >_>The only thing i miss from vanila is it was more social game easy to make friends and so on...

@TheySeeMeCrafting i dont want pvp and pve to be separate.. one of hte things i miss the most about vanilla was the mixing and matching of gear. it wast all about getting tiers it was about getting more unique gear for your unique setup as opposed to 3 spec choices (usually less because some specs dont work for pve) and 3 sets of gear. its also one more thing that makes world pvp never happen, because the world more pve oriented so ur forced to go into instances... wow is based to muchon instanc

Having a High Warlord/Grand Marshall tittle back in -05ish early 06 was better than all those damn achievements people drag about now in day, speaking for myself it took me around a year to achieve my tittle and holy shit was I happy?
The problem with now compared to then is the fact that now you're practically forced to choose one thing with -every- class in the game. There's always a top spec. There's no more creativity left in the game.(Just posted this on WoW forums, go to discussions and type in shaman in search. Check out Kryose's post.) For example, shaman could dual wield or use 2 handers in pvp back then. You could also go ele. Now, the best spec is enhance and you're forced to dual wield. Creativity is a loss now :(
I love Cataclysm in a lot of ways that Vanilla pissed me off. The thing about Vanilla is that when I reached 60 it really felt like I accomplished something. It took a long time and it was so rewarding to get that far. Cataclysm hands everything to you , which a lot of the time makes it worthless but the game overall is more fun, it just feels more diluted than Vanilla. In essence I love them both for different reasons.

People crying about the raids being easier or like pugs can do raids etc should shut up, not everyone can play 24/7 yet they deserve to join in on the fun, this is not an elite gamers only game. As for the pvp nd pve shouldnt be separate? If it wasnt separated pvp wouldnt need any skill, like pure pvers cud own in pvp which just isnt fair. Vanilla is gone get over it.

I know it sounds kinda lame advertising it as I am but I've been playing WoW for 6 years and I can appreciate a decent server when I see one :D So if you wanna experience vanilla once again (kinda , won't be 100% retail like but somewhat close) come and join us on Feenix! But this was so early that VERY FEW was aware of it and got to see it. "Vanilla WoW" isn't a individual patch, it's what the game was and stood for, for the majority of people during it's existance. @Aware96 The commonly accepted fact is that during vanilla WoW, TIER 2 DROPPED FROM BWL. Because that was the case during the vast majority of the original WoW period. If Mintchiplol has the closest connection to early patches of Vanilla, that's fine, but you can't argue that MC is recognized for dropping anything other than tier 1 to the majority of people (except leggings)

I started playing during WoLK and when i started playing i had no idea at all what the game was about. I hadn't watched videos or anything,it was completely new. it definitely felt different at level 1-55 than it did in the zones of BC and wrath. I think i did get to feel how it was to be a vanilla noob. i didnt raid of course,i wasnt even in a guild, but it felt simpler

The only tier 2 I ever remember dropping from MC was from Rag. I never heard differently, and I've been exalted with hydraxian waterlords on 3 different charters.

Therebirth (google it, 4th in list I think - look down till you see wow things) BRAND NEW 1.12.. Exactly blizzlike, no donation gear, 1x exp, classic drops, Raid progression - MC, Ony, etc.. No early ZG - Classic order of releases. No stupid corrupt GMs and slacky devs. Population growing daily, but it's pretty much brand new and people still leveling to 60. Really great feel and I suggest this new realm to anyone.

@TheySeeMeCrafting i dont want pvp and pve to be separate.. one of hte things i miss the most about vanilla was the mixing and matching of gear. it wast all about getting tiers it was about getting more unique gear for your unique setup as opposed to 3 spec choices (usually less because some specs dont work for pve) and 3 sets of gear. its also one more thing that makes world pvp never happen, because the world more pve oriented so ur forced to go into instances... wow is based to muchon instanc

Let me give an example. Bob is an REALLY good PVP'er he have full Tier 2.
But bob dosnt know anything about PVP still, he can go into a battleground and Dominate(Yes this happends today to, but not as much as it did back then) /my opinion

The problem with now compared to then is the fact that now you're practically forced to choose one thing with -every- class in the game. There's always a top spec. There's no more creativity left in the game.(Just posted this on WoW forums, go to discussions and type in shaman in search. Check out Kryose's post.) For example, shaman could dual wield or use 2 handers in pvp back then. You could also go ele. Now, the best spec is enhance and you're forced to dual wield. Creativity is a loss now :(

I love Cataclysm in a lot of ways that Vanilla pissed me off. The thing about Vanilla is that when I reached 60 it really felt like I accomplished something. It took a long time and it was so rewarding to get that far. Cataclysm hands everything to you , which a lot of the time makes it worthless but the game overall is more fun, it just feels more diluted than Vanilla. In essence I love them both for different reasons.
