World Heroes 2 was the first modern fighting game (if not just fighting game) to have:

* Air-dashing

* The ability to reflect projectiles

* Counter-grab (or when your opponent grabs you, you grab them back)

@Sonic2332 I don't agree, and would not program like this if I was the developer. Giving the Viking a helmet without hornet in the video game would make the player feeling something's wrong, and hopefully he or she would try to read some stuff about the Vikings, and discover the truth. Hopefully, it can create an interest for history, instead of keeping the myth.

@Jolijop I'm all for keeping the facts strait as well, and don't want people getting confused with what really happened. However, myths centered around a particular race or country can spark a person's interest in wanting to learn more about the actual culture and history behind it. World Heroes is very over the top, and embellishes the real world's history.

Giving the viking guy horns makes him feel larger than life. Is it historically accurate? No, but does it make him look cooler? Yes!

I lived most of my childhood,I was born in 1989 in a small city and the closest arcade was a hour away plus none of the ones I went to ever had Neo Geo cabinets. I just learned about them when I started to study the history of game systems. You are lucky. I wonder if the old arcades will ever come back. I would love to open my own arcade when I retire and fill it with the classics like Neo Geo and some of the old atari games like tempest and Donkey kong.

Great playing merlin196! I used to play as Dragon and C. Kidd, who played much like Guile (which is why I liked using him).

But man, what an UNFAIR game!! The AI would always throw and/or reflect my projectiles. You make it look way too easy, lol.

Thanks Joelomite. It's a pretty challenging game. Captain Kidd and Dio in particular can be a nightmare to beat. I think it's easier to beat the game using Erick.

Great game! Among features like Final Fight like minicombos of every character, it allows to return fireballs just blocking in the correct time. I play it sometimes in my GP2X Wiz :)

Fighting against Captain Kidd was pretty frustrating at first. The one downside to this game is that the opponents will almost always block your attacks. It took time and patience to master this game. But it was fun while it lasted.
