I loved this movie. The whole movie is a deep view into an over dedicated mind set obsessed with perfection. What is the price of perfection? How much of this is real? After seeing this film I was on every level emotionally stripped. I said to myself, if Portman doesn't receive the Oscar for her BREATHTAKING role, I absolutely won't believe it. And she received the award. Beautiful. beautiful. beautiful.

I don't think it's fair that people are saying that the movie "encourages eating disorders". It really doesn't, yes it's clear from nina's obsessiveness over being perfect that she does have an eating disorder which is not that unheard of in ballet. But people seem to forget that it portray's it in a negative way (and doesn't actually show much of it)also considering she was suffering from psychosis and hallucinations, it's no wonder why she was throwing up and scratching herself!

The lesbian scene was softcore..the way it was portrayed was not art like, just a sleazy hook to get more attention in.The touching* scenes are an intense adult way that show her becoming her seductive swan;what pleasure and seduction are. I understand that, and let it slide. Her instructor said"you can't seduce us,go touch yourself,and portray your experience because ur character is seductive & ur innocent." I loved the ending, but hate how it mislead me to believe it was a horror movie.

Simplicity is by no means a bad thing but Black Swan reduces everything to a series of reductive binary opposites, represented literally by Nina playing both the White Swan and Black Swan. Nina can remain repressed, pathetic, passionless and infantile but at least she gets to stay sane. Search for moovi.co.cc and this movie in nice quality there!

Perhaps those of us who ‘don’t get’ Black Swan are the poorer for it but it’s very difficult to ignore the juvenile representation of madness and use of film style that runs throughout this film. Great movie scenes to see at moovi.co.cc, visit it!

However, in the case of Black Swan the direct appropriation of theatrical settings and costumes feels crude, making their meaning embarrassingly blatant. Powell and Pressburger managed to pull off the blend of melodrama, ballet, theatrical aesthetics and hyper-reality magnificently in The Red Shoes without it ever feeling as basic and childish as it does in Black Swan. And unless you buy the film’s disturbingly romanticised vision of mental illness, it isn’t much fun either. The final climatic sequence is virtuoso filmmaking but if you haven’t got on board with the mood and ideas behind the film by then, it will not deliver the exhilarating sensory and emotive rush that it has been designed to. When she begins to find a sense of liberation and embrace her dormant sexuality she literally begins wearing black. Perhaps the blunt symbolism throughout Black Swan is just staying true to the straightforward nature of the Swan Lake ballet and overly theatrical flourishes in cinema can work magnificently. @drcyclps great movies mix different genres. they did a great job with the one horror sequence in the middle when the lights go out and rothbar t crosses the camera. definately very Roman Polanski esque. but at its core this is a psych thriller that plays like a drama about the average persons descent into madness

The sexual displays sometimes slip into aggressive exaggeration, a few beats of insanity are more ridiculous than shocking, and a handful of forays into high camp are barely tolerated. i cant believe how this movie isnt as popular more as it should be, i watched it at moovi.co.cc and i enjoyed.

Can I just point out, as someone who has never seen a review by this person before, that I could not reach the end of this review, genuinely, because of how irritating she is? It is just me who found this??
As for the movie, it knocked me sideways last night; perhaps being an Aronofsky fan makes me bias, but I felt there was so much to take in; dark, beautiful, erotic and bold cinema!

I don't think it's fair that people are saying that the movie "encourages eating disorders". It really doesn't, yes it's clear from nina's obsessiveness over being perfect that she does have an eating disorder which is not that unheard of in ballet. But people seem to forget that it portray's it in a negative way (and doesn't actually show much of it)also considering she was suffering from psychosis and hallucinations, it's no wonder why she was throwing up and scratching herself!
