hey i'm thinking of painting my car myself and i don't have any experience on sanding does that really matter and i wanted to know what type of D/A sander i should get
What up man! I just finish looking at the video and its great dude. This video alone made me subscribe! I own a 90 toyota tercel and im gonna paint it myself. I'll hit u up with some question later right now im gonna watch more of your videos. later
Nice video! I have a couple of questions. I have '91 Buick Skylark I want to paint. The roof and hood have rust spots, but hasn't eaten into the metal. I can I fix that. I have one scratch that looks like a key scratch. How would I fix that? Last question. Is it necessary to sand the ENTIRE car? The passenger side looks nice. No dents or dings. Do Have to sand it anyway? Thanks alot for your advice!!
@Jeegee18 you could use any type of compressor doesn't need to be expensive, and any auto store usualy sells paint, like autozone, oreilys, pretty much any auto store
Question....I have a lot of rock dents & minor shopping car ripples in my car. I used a filler on the hood (minor dents) & etc.... Once I got it filled in & sanded smooth 2 the touch, then I put primer on it, but then I noticed I have a "hair line" visible, tiny raised ring around each spot. should I - a.) sand around the edges of those b.) sand the entire area even outside the visible hairline ring or c.) sand it down & start over.
hey. my friend has a 1969 oldsmobile 442 that has rust damage in spots. we just started removing the visible spots by hand with 150 grit paper. should we sand the whole thing with a block by hand. sanding with 80 then 150 and so on. just to get it ready for primer. and in spots where the rust has ate into good metal pretty bad should we apply bondo on it. is so how do we do that? thanks

Say dawg I've never done this before but I want to paint my whole bike it's a yzf 600r I was wondering if you could tell me what supplies to get for me to prep and paint and tell me step by step if you could do that for me that would be tight
I just painted my motorcycle tank black and got a slight orangepeel in the last coat of clear... I am planning on sanding it smooth with 1500.. can you tell me what kind of buffing pad to use to buff it out? I have one that looks like a mop on the bottom, will it work? I see that you used one where the bottom looked sort of like an egg carton. Also, what compounds should I use? I have a standard compound but do I have to go over it again with a glaze?
the "egg shell" is the best it doesn't leave swirl marks. sand real good leave no shiny spots it will be easier to buff like that. i use 3m extra cut compound and 3m finish "glaze" for me the finish is a must but some people don't use it. you could get medium cut and get away with it. good luck
I'm hoping to be able to change the color of my 95 grand cherokee from red to black. There isn't a terrible amount of damage to the paint just what you'd expect for the age. What would be the best way to repaint it without spending a ton of cash. P.S. I'm a do it your selfer so I really would prefer not to pay someone else to do it. Any tips or advice would be great thanks.
There is a lot you can do. with the prep if you dont have to sand use scotch brite . mask with newspaper. buy house paint. buy products from auto zone they work just as well at half price. (note black is they worst color to paint it will show all marking and trash
Hi, I love to see the whole process :)
