@Topepo666 They still make good basses and guitars (and of course other instruments). Point is, you can't compare instruments from now with the older models. Different woods, parts, electronics, etc. And of course like all instrument builders, they have too move on with the time, so the instruments are still good! For me personally, the TRB is the best production line of their basses!

@Basstard22 I played only two Yamaha's basses, what a shame. One was Japan-made BB650 from 80's and the other one was modern BB414 from one of Asian countries. Liked them both, but BB650 was a lot better. Currently I own an Ibanez SR500, my bandmate gave it to me, and for now it's my main bass. I also have a cheap Jazz bass copy, but it's not worth mentioning.

@Topepo666 Sounds great! I only played a Yamaha TRB 1005 so far, but unfortunatly I never owned it :-( I played it in a local music store, and I didn't had enough money that time. I'm gonna buy a good 5 string bass next year, though I'm not sure if it will be a Yamaha. Schecter basses sure have my attention too!
